We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Junior Legal Counsel

Location: Lagos

Primary Functions

  • Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a varierty of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, corporate finance etc.).
  • Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
  • Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties(regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.) creating relations of trust.
  • Keep current on latest legal operations industry trends and developments and identify opportunities to implement industry's best practices.
  • Work with contracting function to maintain the department's library of executed contracts,pre- approved form documents, contracts clauses, templates, historical documents and update the materials as required.
  • Analyzing and studying the existing system.
  • Liase with external counsel to add value and buildup the existing framework.
  • Communication and collaborations with other departments.
  • Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
  • Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders.
  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organisation.
  • Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly
