Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Our preferred candidate will be personable and courteous, understands the importance of confidentiality, relish the challenge of a busy office environment.
  • A proficient communicator with the ability to work independently with tight deadline, open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities.

Duties
Include but not limited to:

  • Posting journal entries
  • Preparing monthly payroll
  • Updating financial statements
  • Processing client records accurately using accounting software
  • Assisting with the preparation of personal and business tax returns
  • Preparing timely and accurate financial reports and cash flow analysis
  • Bookkeeping and daily maintenance of accounts receivables and payables.
  • Filing clients’ accounts before deadline
  • Reconciling, tracking and correcting company’s finances
  • Conducting research to keep up-to-date with accounting laws

Required Skills and Experience

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 0 - 5 years relevant work experience.
  • No prior experience required
  • Good literacy & accurate numeracy
  • Analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent manner, communication and presentation
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles is mandatory
  • Previous experience in a customer facing sales role and/or an accounting qualification are added advantages
  • Attention to detail
  • Great organisation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
