Job Title: Communications Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description
Role Purpose Statement:

  • To promote, protect and enhance the reputation by providing strategic communications support to the key stakeholders through the implementation of activities by driving effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Manage all corporate, product, and internal communications efforts for the company.
  • Collaborate to develop online content that engages our community and leads to measurable action. Strategize on the best way to reach targets and enact plans.
  • Facilitate mechanisms for internal communications with the entire team.
  • Develop a thoughtful media relations strategy in collaboration with the Communications Director.
  • Nurture and develop strong partnerships with media outlets /press and stakeholders in the tech ecosystem.
  • Develop content for business initiatives and management of all CcHUB’s social media platforms.
  • Oversee CcHUB’s community engagement and program planning.
  • Craft the narrative and share the stories of our products, services, as well as our amazing team and culture.
  • Oversee campaigns to increase awareness and excitement around the CcHUB’s community initiatives, services, and brand.
  • Coordinate CcHUB’s events attendance and media around these events.
  • Track and report on key quantitative metrics for business performance.
  • Support CcHUB portfolio companies in crafting and advising on execution strategies aligned with their brands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Communications / PR / Journalism related with 5 years+ experience.
  • Well-developed organizational, IT and administrative skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other Skills & Competencies:

  • Understanding of social media metrics in order to interpret the results and take action to increase the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
  • Experience writing and managing content for the media, including digital and social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), video scripts and storyboarding case studies, and factsheets/briefings.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work with little supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to research and understand complex subject matter to produce succinct, engaging copy for different audiences.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative within set guidelines and as part of a team. 
  • The ability to build relationships and influence others based on sound professional knowledge.
  • Flexible, proactive, able to generate ideas and create solutions to problems.

Job Title: Senior Incubation Associate

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job type: Contract

Job Description

  • We are looking to recruit a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Incubation Associate to provide support to the incubation and acceleration activities at the Incubation center of excellence

Project Management:

  • Support in the designing and implementation of entrepreneurship related programmes at the center.
  • Support the programme manager to ensure alignment between the different stakeholders of the programmes including startups, industry experts and facilitators through clear and consistent communication
  • Manage logistics for the programmes

Startup Support:

  • Work with incubatees to build, test and acquire users/customers
  • Write monthly reports on progress and achieved milestones of startups.
  • Manage applications to different programmes, as well as communication with applicants

Research:

  • Support the incubation manager in Sourcing, application evaluation, due diligence and selection committee briefing to aid selection of startups into our programmes
  • Conduct industry/sector research to identify opportunities, partners, and industry experts for our programmes

Communication:

  • Conduct check-ins with startups being supported to understand their challenges and needs and connect them to relevant resources
  • Create content specific to the work being done at the center

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Graduation (background in IT / Computer Science / Finance / Commerce is preferred)
  • Minimum of 2+ experience working in startups or with an incubator/accelerator is a bonus.
  • Overall understanding of the digital technology and product landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with start-ups, entrepreneurs and other necessary stakeholders.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to speak in front of an audience as and when deemed necessary
  • Experience of running multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent skills in the entire Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.)
  • Execution skill set – including a focus on data-driven decision making, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to drive rapid “learn & implement” iterations.
  • Empathy - using skills that allow to determine what is most important to their target audience, and then working to deliver on an organizational promise.

  • We are looking to recruit a results-driven venture support executive to join the startups support unit and work with exciting companies across our accelerator programmes.
  • In this role, you will play a key role in supporting high growth technology companies, from across the continent, on their distribution challenges/goals as well as engage in and unlock partnerships that will be of benefit to the growth of these companies.  
  • This role will be perfect for someone with a growth mindset and the natural capacity for building relationships.

Startup Support:

  • Work day-to-day with entrepreneurs across our programmes to build global sustainable businesses with laser focus on customer acquisition and distribution strategies.
  • Provide advisory to startups on their partnerships and customer acquisition strategy.
  • Make introductions and connect portfolio companies to individuals and organizations that will be of value to the growth of the companies.
  • Create and facilitate growth related workshops/projects 

Corporate Network Engagement:

  • Manage existing partnerships with corporate executives within our network well as develop new relationships, with a focus on unlocking key growth opportunities for companies in our accelerator programmes.
  • Implement and execute creative ways to keep existing and new partners engaged
  • Evaluate and pursue opportunities for partnerships and collaborations, on an ongoing basis, that will be of benefit to companies in our programmes.

  • Preferably with 2 - 5 years of work experience in growth, partnerships , business development or any other related line of work.
