  • The Excellent Youth Conference (EYC) is an annual youth conference of the Excellent Minds Initiative, it is a vision conceived through genuine passion for liberating young minds from uninspiring mediocrity and lacklustre posture. Through this annual conference, we inculcate in every young person, a culture of excellence and innovation, built on a foundation of sound and Godly characters.
  • We are seeking a Part-time Publicity Manager for the 2019 Excellent Youth Conference.
  • The successful candidate shall help publicize, using all possible strategies; and promote the conference within its target area in Kwara State.
Job Supervisors:
  • EMI Project Coordinator.
Responsibilities The successful candidate:
  • Publicizes and promotes the conference within the Kwara State University students' community at Malete, by building stronger network, with existing students' partners/volunteers of EMI at the University.
  • Manages, tracks and grows the Excellent Youth Conference presence on all social media platforms; and communicates regularly with followers on behalf of EMI.
  • Recruit volunteers to provide conference on-site registration and support as ushers during the conference.
  • Creates and manages social media accounts for Excellent Youth Conference 2019 and give the conference a robust online presence.
  • Reports directly to the EMI Project Coordinator and EMI Vice-President; and keep them informed of any media activities.
  • Acts as a liaison officer for the conference.
  • Writes and issues regular media releases (conference promotional materials, guests' profile etc) concerning the forthcoming conference and give a feedback to the online followers on the success of the conference.
  • Ensures that the conference receives the widest possible media coverage, particularly amongst students of Kwara State University, Malete, who are our target for this year's edition.
About You
  • This position is opened to anyone who feels confident enough to deliver on the job and can foster a good relationship with the existing EMI Students' Network at Kwara State University. The ideal candidate must be tech-savvy and be familiar with all social media platforms
  • As this is contract based - payment of remuneration will be based strictly on the conference successful outcome(s) in terms of attendance; particularly, on how effective your publicity strategies are in achieving the minimum target of 250 attendees for the 2019 Excellent Youth Conference which will be held on 30th October and 1st November, 2019 at Boyi Event Hall, Kwara State University, Malete.

  • The classification is EMI Paid Volunteer Position and it comes with an attractive remuneration and an additional reimbursement towards data cost for the 3 weeks contract.
