InterContinental Hotel Lagos Job Vacancy for an Assistant Executive Housekeeper


InterContinental Lagos will open in 2013 and will be located on Victoria Island, in the centre of Lagos home to the majority of foreign embassies and multinational companies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travelers. Built on an elevated terrain overlooking Lagos's port and the city below,
the 19 storey hotel will offer uninterrupted, spectacular views of Lagos Skyline.

InterContinental Lagos will comprise of 358 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests will have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. The lobby lounge and Co*ktail bar will be the perfect setting for casual meetings over coffee or drinks. In addition, for the health conscious traveler there will be a health club bar serving fresh juices. InterContinental Lagos will also offer exclusive business and conference facilities including a state of the art ballroom with a foyer area, and several additional flexible meeting and breakout. We are currently recruiting our Assistant Executive Housekeeper

This challenging position supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
You will assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, which includes scheduling employees to ensure proper coverage,Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to ensure everything is clean and in good repair, Assist in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of housekeeping, Participate as needed in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel, Assist in maintaining high standard levels for supplies and equipment, Monitor housekeeping personnel to ensure that rooms especially those of SCC Members, known repeat guest and other VIPs receive proper attention, Ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties .

QUALIFICATIONS:
* A degree in Hotel management or its equivalent
* Business savvy and good people skills
* Experience in emerging markets / similar hard locations
* Visionary & strategic thinker and ability to convert this to action
* Extensive "Hands On" Housekeeping and laundry experience with at least two years in a management capacity in a hotel of similar size and complexity
* Excellent communications skills, written & oral proficiency in English.
* "Out of the box" thinking mentality.
