Job Summary
- We are currently looking to fill the role of Human Resources Officer who will be responsible for overall contract administration for national staff as well as processing monthly payroll in line with ACF HR procedures.
- Working closely with the rest of HR team at the mission level to support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that contracts and contract amendments are processed in a timely manner, communicated, and documented properly.
- Ensure that administrative processes for employee separations are followed properly, and that necessary documentation and information is recorded for the processing of end of contracts.
- Update the payroll database regularly throughout the month, ensuring that all additions, deletions and changes are recorded completely and accurately and that supporting documentation is filed.
- Submit a finalized version of the payroll database to the HR Manager on a monthly basis.
- Work with the HR Assistant to ensure that signed timesheets and payslips are received, tracked and filed correctly for all staff.
- Provide suggestions on how to improve HR functioning throughout the Base;
- Ensure the maintenance of Action Against Hunger communication boards;
- In collaboration with the HR team in Abuja, develop and maintain a tracking system for base statistics.
- Responsible for follow-up with HR Abuja /Medicare for any changes to employee details.
- Supervise the arrangement for hotel or guesthouse accommodation bookings for visitors to the base.
- Place appropriate order to re-stock office consumables (stationary, tea items, etc) supplies through purchasing request to logistics.
- Support the implementation of a uniform briefing process across the mission and ensure that it is provided for all new staff.
- Support the implementation and application of the HR policy at the base and provide advice and support to employees when required.
- Support the HR Facilities Assistant with UNHAS booking for staff and seconded staff.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in fields related to HR, Administration and Management; Masters’ Degree a plus.
- 2 years work experience with at least 1 year in a related role.
- Understanding of national labor law and employment norms and practices;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information;
- Previous experience working for INGOs an asset, particularly health related INGOs.
- Fluency in one or more national/regional languages an asset.
- Working experience with Homere payroll software.
- Approachable, diplomatic, able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment.
- Computer literate including all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently.
Starting Basic Salary
- NGN326,033 per month (excluding other benefits)
