Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology. Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.

Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Job Overview / Summary

  • We are looking for a skilled HR Assistant to support the HR Officer in the discharge of duties, the ideal candidate will support and develop talent through developing policies and managing procedures.
  • He or She will be responsible for administrative tasks and contribute to making LESGO a better place to work.
  • The goal will be to provide excellent assistance and support to employees and managers, support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems, deal with staff welfare, administration-centered activities and provide counseling on policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Assist with HR during orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist HR to manage the Office Cleaners.
  • Assist HR to ensure adequate availability and timely replenishment of office cleaning supplies as identified by the cleaners.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Maintain calendars of the HR management team.
  • Assist to oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Job Specifications

Education:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business or Public Administration or related field.
  • Professional Certification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 years of relevant professional experience in administration/human resources and in similar position.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have good knowledge and application of Nigeria Labour Laws.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to organize tasks simultaneously, prioritize work and ensure tasks are completed by deadline.
  • Honest, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Willing to adhere to and implement the LESGO’s core values.
  • Good inter-personal and conflict resolution skills, able to work under pressure and manage personal stress.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good working knowledge of relevant Microsoft office tools such as word, PowerPoint, excel.
  • Must have good business communication skills.
