We are recruiting experienced and dedicated candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Agbara, Ogun

Job Summary

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety, social and environmental laws,statutory provisions, procedures, guidelines and specifications and to provide advice on measures needed to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations in the organization.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Preparing and updating health, safety, social and environmental management plans, reviewing them on a regular basis and keep them up to date at all times.
• Advising and instructing all staff, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders on various safety, health, social and environmental related matters regarding project implementation.
• Ensuring awareness on health and safety issues among project staff, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders and within the organization.
• Conducting risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures on HSSE.
• Initiating, organizing and conducting HSSE training for all staff, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Inspecting work sites and the work of personnel on a regular basis to identify issues or non-conformity, and enforcing necessary actions where unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy are detected.
• Overseeing installations, maintenance and disposal of substances, plant and equipment etc. to ensure they are done in conformity with applicable laws and industry best practice...etc.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of HND / B.Sc from a reputable institution
• Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization and analytical skills
• Good public speaking and leadership skills
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a HSE Officer.
• Proven experience as a HSE Officer in a Steel company will be an added advantage
• Candidates must posses relevant certifications
