We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Collect all HSE information (Inspection and incident report, anomalies, audits, walkthroughs, Management visits, etc.) from the Project Site.
  • Prepare monthly HSE statistical report.
  • Maintain a file of all HSE reports and actions (Audit, Inspection, Incidents, and anomaly).
  • Maintain Site Health, Safety, and Environmental records and organize and participate in audits to ensure the effective implementation of HSE rules on site.
  • Participates actively in all HSE Committee meetings, site planning, and coordination meetings.
  • Participates actively in all HSE Committee meetings, planning and coordination meetings as well as contributing to defining ways and means to identify/minimize risks and the impact of activities.
  • Participate in investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, anomalies, incidents, training, and other HSE-related activities.
  • Participate in preparing works and operations, checking that comprehensive incident mitigation measures are enforced.
  • Follow up on all HSE actions entered until they are closed out.
  • Issue reminder to personnel on action(s).
  • Generate statistical analysis to ensure adequate prevention of incidents.
  • Participate in site environmental audits, and monitor, follow up, and assess any agreed corrective recommendations and ensure their implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Geological or Sciences, Occupational Health
  • Industrial construction field experience with in-depth HSE fieldwork
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Min. 5 years of professional experience
  • Min. 5 years of project experience within the Construction industry
