The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Duties
Basic Function:

  • The incumbent maintains the Real Property Application (RPA) at post, including working closely with OBO when necessary.
  • Assists the Real Property Assistants to conduct visual inspection prior to departure of employees to assess state of furniture, cleanliness of apartment and make ready concerns and in searching for new properties for the housing pool.
  • Ensures that household furnishings and fixtures are in good working order and notes if repair or replacement is needed.   
  • Incumbent maintains and updates post housing files.
  • Assists in property survey and drafting of routine correspondences, preparing draft leases and cables for approvals.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of University Studies is required.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of two (2) years in real estate/property management and administrative management is required.

Job Knowledge: 

  • Knowledge of Nigerian real estate laws and property values is required. Knowledge of Nigerian government agencies responsible for documentation and issues relating to real property is required.
  • Must have good knowledge of business correspondence, applicable instructions and standard office procedures, 

Evaluations:

Language:  

  •  Fluent in speaking / reading / writing of English is required.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • The ability to use a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other related Microsoft Suite is required. 
  • A valid drivers license is required with a driving experience of at least five years.

Agency Benefits:

  • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lagos, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
  • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
