Pistachio Foods Limited, an international Restaurant Chain is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Host / Hostess
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Floor Manager

Tasks

• Answer the phone within 3 rings
• Take reservations and engage in conversation in line with R.S.V.P. standards
• Greet arriving guests within 15 seconds of their entry, and apologize to them in case of delay
• Greet guests with their names when possible
• Ensure that the standard table layout is always respected and never overcrowd the bar with additional high chairs
• Never allow guests to cluster near the cash register or to use the reception
• Ensure that staff noise levels are always at a minimum
• Ensure that waiters are in their positions and that clustering is not permissible
• Prepare set menus based on management guidelines and communicate offers with guests
• Be responsible for R.S.V.P. Info mailing list and reply to requests and queries based on guidelines set by management
• Assist floor manager in daily checklists and duties and ensure that all SOPs are followed before each shift, on a daily basis
• Escort guests to their tables and assist them in seating by pulling out their chairs. Guests are never to be seated on a table that is not ready
• Inform guests of any specials once they are seated
• In case of heavy incoming traffic, ask the waiter of the relevant section to escort the guests to their table
• Table distribution should be spread out when reserving tables at the same time
• Always begin bookings by filling up the double height area
• Never compromise the table distribution for alliances with any member of staff
• Be knowledgeable with all offering of R.S.V.P.’s food and drinks menu
• Be able to give clear and concise directions to R.S.V.P.
• Be knowledgeable in the operating hours (see operating hours page)
• Learn and be familiar with the names of VIPs and regular guests
• Prepare the seating assignment on a daily basis and inform management of any VIP bookings
• Understand clearly any guest request or complaints that arise and pass them on to the headwaiter and floor manager when necessary

Person Specifications

• Minimum Ordinary National Diploma
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good Interpersonal skills.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience workimg in international hotel like Radison Blu, Sunthern Sun, Protea or Fine Dining Restaurant
