Job Title: Head, Power & Renewable Energy

Location: Lagos
Reports to: CEO

Job Overview

  • The role of the Head, Power and Renewable Energy will be to lead and oversee the strategy and delivery of the company’s power and renewable energy products to residential and corporate customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the implementation of the company’s strategy for solar power & renewable energy
  • Support the company in the implementation of the business strategy for the Power and Renewable Energy department
  • Creating and delivering presentations and proposals to prospects
  • As the commercial focal point, you will be responsible for driving sales and marketing activities, ensuring sales targets are met in support of the business plan.
  • Oversee customer engagement and new product development which intrinsically provide the foundation of the firm's long term sustained growth.
  • Supervise the customer care and complaint management process delivered by internal teams and external partners to deliver world class customer experience.
  • Run data analytics to better understand customer behavior and generate insights that can be used to create value.
  • Understand regulated energy markets, solar and power utility pricing, and consumer value propositions for the residential and small commercial segments of the electricity market.
  • Ensure conformance to design and equipment specification and compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar energy systems or components
  • Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities in solar power solutions while managing existing client relationships
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders (clients and regulators) within the industry
  • Responsible for the development of tendered and untendered proposals for solar and power services
  • Lead the design, development and building of power technologies
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed schedules of work, feasibility studies and cost estimates for projects; negotiate service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues
  • Any other tasks as delegated by management

Requirements

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant Professional Certifications.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of relevant professional experience including at least eight years of relevant professional experience in the power and renewable energy industry
  • Proven ability to work within diverse teams of cross-functional and multi-national professional staff interpersonal skills and utilize the talent and expertise of team members in a productive way.
  • Up to date knowledge of power infrastructure capital costs and operating parameters of diverse generation, transmission, distribution and retail / vending technologies and business models.
  • Excellent project management and contract administration skills.
  • Ability to draft Terms of reference TORs, Requests for Quotation RFQs and Requests for Proposals RFPs to procure services from consultants.
  • Competence in the use of standard Microsoft office applications Word, Excel, Access, Projects, and Power Point.
  • Good listening skills with demonstrated ability to present and win support for ideas as well as make effective and timely decisions
  • Full understanding of the power and renewable energy project cycle, value chain and project / program processing and implementation requirements, including the corresponding documentation from origination to project closure.
