Eye Foundation Hospital Group (EFHG) is a healthcare group with speciality in Eye care services. The Eye Foundation Hospital was started in 1993 as a high tech specialist eye hospital capable of providing services comparable to those obtainable abroad. It is the first and foremost indigenous eye practice in the country that runs a group practice with many sub specialized ophthalmologists.

Job Summary

  • The Head, Human Capital is responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of a company's human resources department. Typically, he/ she is to supervise and provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budget, and labor relation.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties shall include, but not limited to the following under the directive of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & the Executive Director (ED):

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Team to build a world-class culture and successfully implement strategic solutions supporting business growth and employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide strategic leadership in order to build and maintain a robust performance management, talent and organization development, workforce planning, career pathing, and succession planning capability.
  • Ensure compensation policy and processes are in alignment so that employees receive incentives and rewards for effective performance.
  • Supervises staff and report to the chief executive officer on issues regarding implementation of policies and procedures, safety of the workforce, recruiting and hiring high-performing employees, and labor, legislative and other human resources issues.
  • Direct the development and implementation of organizational development programs, employee orientation and training programs, benefits plans, policies and guidelines, database management procedures, equal opportunity employment programs, and employee records and documentation policies.
  • Responsible for evaluating effectiveness through compiling and analyzing data, prepare and distribute various reports on HR metrics to ensure needs are met to executive management.
  • Lead the organization to deliver best-in-class people operations – including recruiting and retention, performance management/internal review processes, on-boarding, orientation, learning and development and employee relations that represent our values.
  • Responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of the organization’s human resources.
  • Supervise and provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, and budget.
  • Take a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance to the organization’s objectives.
  • Responsible for effectively planning, designing, developing and evaluating human resource-related initiatives that support organizational strategic goals.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and industry regulations, advising department managers on legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances.
  • Analyze workforce trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Provides advice and guidance on all aspects of performance management including leadership development, accelerated development, coaching and dismissals.
  • Perform benefit and compensation analysis and complete survey reports.
  • Responsible for planning and overseeing the HR department budget.
  • Responsible for developing effective training programs.
  • Responsible for effectively structuring benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Utilizing technology to enhance and measure the results of human resources programs.
  • Making informed business decisions based on data and statistics
  • Ensures compliance with general HR best practices and employment legislation.
  • Drive a culture that facilitates employee success which includes a positive work environment, employee engagement and a focus on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provides consultation on organization design, team effectiveness strategies and change management programs.
  • Provide a framework to support sharing knowledge and drive toward cutting edge HR practices.
  • Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; and establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Accomplish special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
  • Coach managers on managing employee performance and provides guidance on any corrective action situations.
  • The Chief Executive Officer reserves the right to change the above responsibilities from time to time in line with the organization’s Strategic Objectives.

Qualifications

  • A degree from a reputable university in a related field preferably in social sciences, Behavioral Sciences or Humanities.
  • An MBA is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in HRM is compulsory preferably CIPM, CIPD or HRCI.
  • Minimum of Twelve years’ experience in Human Resources with at least 5 years’ experience in a managerial position.
