We are recruiting to fill the position of:

 

Job Title: Fleet Supervisor

Location: Kaduna

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing and maintaining vehicles for deliveries; advising whether to lease or buy vehicles.
  • Managing drivers so they adhere to strict schedules; developing efficient driver schedules to maximize profits.
  • Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
  • Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
  • Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks required to support organizational goals and objectives
  • Registering and licensing all vehicles under their management.
  • Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Nigerian Transport laws and regulations.
  • Scheduling strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and to ensure operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or any related course.
  • 2+ years experience in the logistics/ transportation industry.
  • Experience working to determine the type and extent of repairs required, and schedule repair of components, considering time requirements and vehicle downtime.
  • Develop and recommend systems and procedures related to assigned operations.
  • Should possess proven knowledge of principles and practices of employee supervision, including training, work evaluation and discipline, safe work methods and practices; hazards and safety precautions associated with equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to review data on past and current maintenance performance; prepare and maintain records and reports; prepare and validate requirements for facility improvements and repairs.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specifications and manuals.
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting principles.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
