Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The role of the Mid-Level Finance Manager encompasses supporting financial operations, offering strategic guidance in alignment with the Company’s objectives, and making informed decisions for future financial planning.
  • This position involves generating financial reports, formulating strategies through comprehensive financial research, managing budget planning, scrutinizing financial reports, overseeing accounts, and preparing accurate financial forecasts.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting Excellence:

  • Facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting, collaborate with external auditors for annual audits, and provide comprehensive financial reports with interpretive insights for managerial decision-making.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, timely completion of tax filings, and reconciliation of VAT/Corporate Tax/PAYE/WHT accounts for all statutory entities.

Strategic Financial Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with banks to optimize processing costs, provide advice on investment activities, sustain the organization's financial health, and develop trends and projections for the firm's finances.

Operational Support and Budget Management:

  • Support finance department operations by establishing and communicating goals; conducting daily reviews of assets, liabilities, income, and expenditures; preparing weekly reports and metrics; assisting in Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly budget preparation; conducting variance analysis; preparing Monthly Management Account Profit & Loss; Balance sheet;  Cashflow statements, and reconciling repayments for aging report performance. Additionally, prepare and review Prepayment schedules, Accruals, Accrued expenses, and provision ledgers.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with external auditors and work closely with tax consultants, addressing compliance requirements from FIRS, LIRS, and other statutory bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years or more of pertinent experience in an accounting or finance role within a financial services organization or regulated company setting.
  • Familiarity with applicable IFRS accounting standards.
  • Hold a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA etc.
