Finance Assistant at Médecins Sans Frontières

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Type of Contract: 6 months Fixed Term Renewable

Scope of Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Execute administrative and finance related tasks and follow up of accountancy to support the Finance Manager following MSF standard and procedures, in order to ensure legal compliance and keep a strict control over monetary resources to achieve project objectives
  • Implementing cash management procedures in order to ensure the highest control and security, assisting the Project Fin Manager in the prevision of monthly treasury and planning in order to en-sure the coverage of daily needs, advances on salaries, payroll, etc.
  • Implement cash management procedures in order to ensure the highest control and security, and ensure cash availability
  • Carry out all accounting tasks and activities in order to ensure strict control of all expenditures and the reliability of statements and documentation.
  • Classify and prepare all accounting pieces as requested by the Administration Manager.
  • File the accounting documents and enter the accounting pieces in the accounting software, with the support from the Administration Manager and/or the Accounting Manager (ACMA).
  • Update and maintenance of accounting database, archiving folders
  • Retrieve all documents as needed upon request and support the Finance coordinator and ACMA during audits.
  • Update and maintenance of mission contract file both in hard copy and file follow up
  • Assist the Finance Coordinator in the prevision of monthly treasury and planning in order to ensure the coverage of daily needs, advances on salaries, payroll, etc.
  • Process the payment to suppliers and keep strict on all documentation involved, informing the administration manager of any sort of disparity.
  • Any other administrative task delegated by the Project Finance Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Desirable: Finance, Business or Administration related Diploma
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
  • Commitment, Flexibility, Stress Management, Results, Teamwork, Service.
  • Essential previous working experience of at least two (2) years in relevant jobs
  • Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs
