Job Title: Factory Health, Safety & Environment Manager

Location: Lagos

Purpose Statement

  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing organizational safety programs in the Dairies (Oregun) & Snacks (Ojota) Plants.
  • Conduct risk assessments to detect potential hazards, identify precautionary measures and ensure implementation of HSE programs.

Job Description

  • Conducting risk assessment and ensuring implementation of required controls.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures at relevant facilities.
  • Planning and implementing all Health, Safety and Environment programs.
  • Collating and analyzing all relevant Health Safety and Environment reports periodically.
  • Investigating workplace incidents, establishing the causes, and recommending preventive action against recurrences.
  • Ensuring Emergency response infrastructure, arrangements and procedure are up to date, effective and on standby.
  • Standardization of HSE Processes and Programs in line with ISO45001 & ISO14001 framework. Experience in managing and coaching teams and individuals.
  • Implementing workforce HSE continuous development strategies across the relevant factories.
  • Providing management with appropriate information on safety, health, and environment related matters.
  • Ensuring general hygiene in the factory (GMP) and prompt fumigation of the factory and premises.
  • Ensuring good sanitation of storage facilities and environment for effective storage conditions.
  • Enforcing procedure of solid waste materials are implemented.
  • Handling the procedure for wastewater discharge to comply with local regulations on wastewater discharges.
  • Enforcing HSE regulatory and operational compliance across the factories.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures at relevant facilities.
  • Enforcing procedures for solid waste management are implemented.
  • Handling the procedure for wastewater discharge to comply with local regulations on wastewater discharges.
  • Ensuring the procedures for both in- house, third party pest control and fumigation programs are effectively implemented.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific discipline or HSE related field with NYSC Certificate
  • 6 – 9 years’ relevant experience in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.

  • Occupational Health, Safety & Environment managerial experience in an FMCG industry (A substantive operations experience is core. additional experience in safety projects support is an added advantage).
  • Certifications in NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Emergency Response
  • Sustainability and NEBOSH Diploma are an added advantage
  • Must be resident in Lagos State.
  • An innovative, skillful, and self-motivated team player with good analytical, statistical, communication and change management skills.
