Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004.

NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN),to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

Background

  • The RSSH 2024 – 2026 grant is designed to contribute to make foundational changes by strengthening the health systems in Nigeria through targeted interventions that support the federal government to set policies, strategies and standards as well as plan, monitor, and review progress against those standards; governance and planning reforms that align with national policies, standards, and strategies to drive sustainable improvements to maximize impact on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria ATM and other diseases.
  • The Community Systems Strengthening of the RSSH grant is geared towards four priority interventions: (i) community-based monitoring, (ii) community-led advocacy and research, (iii) social mobilization, building community linkages and coordination and (iv) Institutional capacity building, planning and leadership development. Gaps that are identified through the monitoring activities will be noted, prioritized and remediation sought through advocacy to decision-makers at the government and community levels. This will lead to more effective service delivery, improved accessibility, affordability and investments by communities and governments at local and state levels for health and particularly ATM.
  • The ATM networks (NEPWHAN, TBN and ACOMIN) are Technical Service Organisations working on the RSSH grant, with NTBLCP as the Principal Recipient. The ATM networks implement a wide array of activities with each network assigned to lead designated set of activities. This grant supports members of the ATM network to attend leadership courses yearly throughout the grant period.
  • This activity aims to improve the capacity of the NEPWHAN National Project Management Team to provide technical support to State Project Management Teams for effective grant implementation.

Scope of Work

  • The facilitator will work under the supervision of the NEPWHAN Project Management Team (PMT) to strengthen the PMT on team building and team bonding. This entails the following:
    • Conduct an entry/interaction meeting with the PMT to understand the concept of the project.
    • Prepare course outline/training agenda
    • Develop course training slides
    • Facilitate the 2 days residential training.
    • Develop detailed report of the training on team building and team bonding.
    • Provide certification of attendance to participants upon course/training completion.

Methodology for the Training

  • The training program will employ a combination of power point presentations, interactive workshops, case studies, and group discussions as follows:
    • Power point: Expert-led sessions on team building and team bonding.
    • Workshops: Hands-on activities to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.
    • Case Studies: Analysis of successful team building and team bonding models.
    • Group Discussions: Facilitated discussions to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration

Specific Deliverables:

  • Inception Report detailing entry interaction with the PMT and understanding of the expected role.
  • Course outline/training agenda.
  • Training slides from any nationally/internationally recognized curriculum.
  • Submit a comprehensive training report of the consultancy.
  • Provide certification of attendance to participants upon course/training completion.
