Job Title: English Language Teacher

Location: Akowonjo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • At QEFAS Preparatory School, we are looking for a dedicated educator who possesses a deep knowledge of both English Language, has a passion for teaching and wants to make impact in Nigerian educational space.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the understanding of these subjects for our students, preparing them for local examinations such as SAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, UTME and WAEC.
  • This individual may also provide support to the Literature in English department as required.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Development:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover in English Language syllabi.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of individuals or groups of students.
  • Prepare students for local examinations, including UTME and WAEC and international examinations such as SAT, GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS
  • Introduce interactive learning strategies and integrate technology to enhance content delivery.

Support & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, especially within the Literature in English department, to enhance the teaching environment and share best practices.
  • Assist the English department in lesson planning, grading, and any other area as needed.

Assessment & Feedback:

  • Evaluate student performance through quizzes, tests, etc.
  • Provide feedback to students regarding their progress and areas of improvement.
  • Track and report students’ progress and participation.

Continuous Learning & Professional Development:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends in teaching English Language.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance teaching skills andknowledge.

Requirements

  • B.Sc, MSc or PhD in English Language or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching English Language or Literature in English at the secondary school level or higher level.
  • Knowledge of SAT, IELTS, GRE, TOEFL, UTME and WAEC examination formats and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology and various teaching tools.

Desirable:

  • Possession of experience or credentials in English Language teaching.
  • Residency near the school&location, or a willingness to relocate, to reduce transportation expenses.

Compensation
N100,000 / Month + benefits, including ongoing professional development opportunities.
