Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all routine electrical maintenance activities in the Plant
- Approve all procurement needs analysis for the Electrical/I&C maintenance unit
- Approve all electrical/I&C maintenance design work
- Review and monitor the closure of all TMs relating to electrical/I&C maintenance
- Oversee the Electrical/I&C team in resolving issues highlighted as part of analysis from the planning and efficiency team
- Ensure high availability of all electrical/I&C equipment and systems in the power plant
- Minimize cost of maintenance of the plant and optimize equipment lifecycle cost
- Supervision of maintenance measures in Electrical/I&C maintenance unit and ensuring quality of Maintenance
- Ensure availability of spares and other infrastructure for maintenance
- Minimize response time to the Operations unit for handling routine day-to-day problems
- Optimize Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)
- Plan resource requirements for Electrical/I&C maintenance–manpower, materials and contracts
- Network with other electrical maintenance teams in the plant and at other locations to capture learning and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct performance review of subordinates.
- Prepare periodic report for the attention of the Station Manager.
Skills / Qualifications
- Required Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- NSE/ COREN
- Minimum of ten years of experience with engineering of modern power system, power system protection and control, transmission & distribution system.
- Work Experience: Proven experience in a power plant.
- Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
Job Title: Protection Control & Metering (PC&M) Engineer

Job Description
- To install, operate, and repair all substation metering equipment, current and potential transformers, relays, recloses and other protection devices, as well as recording and data monitoring device
Responsibilities
- Reviews Metering and Relaying Diagrams and determines the required protection and protective relays
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs relay and control equipment in electrical sub-stations e.g. protective relays, instrument transformers, meters, recording instruments, controls (breakers, regulators, capacitors, etc.)
- Develops substation drawings (plot plans, relay wiring diagrams, oneline diagrams, raceway and structure drawings, etc.), construction specifications, bills of materials and other supporting documentation
- Models network systems and develops relay and logic settings with proper coordination using relevant software - prepares relay sheets for field implementation and testing
- Performs system analyses including relay coordination, ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and short circuit studies
- Performs periodic tests on substation equipment to determine performance e.g. power factor testing, insulation testing, transformer turns ratio, etc.
- Reviews transmission relay operations, identifies mis-operations, and suggests corrective action
- Performs impedance, short circuit, and settings calculations using relevant software
- Maintains under-frequency load shed database and develops regulatory reports accordingly
- Ensures strict compliance with substation maintenance schedule

Qualifications and Requirements
- Working experience in a substation
- Proven experience with microprocessor based and electromechanical protective relays
- Proven ability to view, create and modify drawings in relevant software
- Proven ability to prepare relay panel specifications and develop relay settings
- Proven experience with telecommunications and automation
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical problems related to protective relays/controls and their interaction with power systems
- Proficient in the use of modelling software
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years work experience.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or any Social Science Discipline.
- Associate of CIPM, or member of any other Professional body
- 4 years of experience as in Human Resource Management.

- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
