Job Title: Cash Officer / Teller

Job Summary

  • The Cash Officer would take responsibilities of effective functioning of the cash department in the bank branch.

Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of a Cash Officer are listed below:

  • Be the joint custodian of Cash and other valuables
  • Supply cash / cash boxes to Single Window Operator (SWO) in the morning. Take possession of excess / surplus cash or deliver / supply cash from / to SWO and bulk cashier(s), as and when required during the day. Complete Estimated Over Draft (EOD) exercise for cash after completion of business hours.
  • Carry out surprise verification of the cash holding in the cash boxes of SWO and carry out intra day cash verification at the SWO Counters.
  • Ensure that all the notes received are shrouded and sorted into issuable and non-issuable notes.
  • Ensure that the non-issuable note bundles prepared are pasted with note slips duly signed by the SWO on the top and bottom of the bundles confirming the quantity and quality of the notes. Manage cash inventory at the Branch, arrange for inward / outward cash remittances from them.
  • Arrange for receipt / payment of bulk cash from important customers.
  • Generate and check relevant reports.
  • Ensure operation of the vault as per standards
  • Save the Cash related reports daily and keep a hard copy of all the reports properly filed for future reference.
  • Verify the cash balance in the vault fortnightly.

Required Educational / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Business or a related field, marketing strategy
  • With at least 2 - 7 years of Experience in related role.
  • Certification in Microfinance Banking is an advantage
  • Candidate for this position must not be more than 30 years as at January 1st 2022.

 

 

Job Title: Head, Legal Services

  • The Head of Legal is first and foremost tasked with leading and motivating all the Legal Officers both at the head office and the regional offices to ensure that the perform optimally.
  • The person will also act as a mentor to all legal department personnel, encouraging their professional growth.

Job Description

  • Legal Advisory Role: The Head of Legal along with the Legal Adviser manages legal risk within the enterprise by providing legal advice to the business and management.
  • Collaboration Role: The role of the Head of Legal is also a collaborative one and in that capacity he works with departmental leadership and key stakeholders across the business in overseeing and ensuring legal compliance across the business, maintaining the business' integrity both internally and externally (reputational risk).
  • Specific functions: The Head of Legal also performs similar duties as he deems fit for the proper execution of his duties and duties as delegated by the Company Secretary / Legal Adviser and management of the bank.
  • Supervise legal work of Legal Officers, paralegals, and outside counsel; consults on difficult or sensitive issues.
  • Ensure compliance by the Bank with best Corporate Governance Practices including risk identification and mitigation.
  • Draft, review, and approve policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents.
  • Reviews contracts, leases, and other legal documents; researches legal issues and recommends revisions as necessary.
  • Review, research, interpret, and prepares both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal issues.
  • Provide efficient, effective legal support services and ensuring compliance by the Bank with laws governing its operations;
  • Ensure the Bank is legally protected in all its transactions, with customers and other third parties;
  • Manage the Bank's litigation portfolio to ensure that it is within set parameters by Managing disputes, claims, actions and potential disputes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • LL.B.
  • Not less than 7 years post bar proven experience in a diverse legal field.
  • Preferably candidates from the banking sector.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate, real estate, commercial law and procedures in the banking sector.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

Job Title: Business Development Manager

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing business solutions

Main Duties of the Position

Job Title: Credit & Marketing Officer

Job Description

  • Responsible for managing the credit risk portfolio of the bank
  • Responsible for coordinating marketing functions of the bank's products and services
  • Monitor repayment and preparation of loan deduction schedule
  • Analyze credit information to determine the risk involved in lending and prepare reports of findings.
  • Perform periodic stress testing and credit review of bank's loan portfolio.

Job Requirements
Applicant must possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of a first degree from a recognized institution in Accounting / Banking / Finance discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 - 6 years experience a marketing function within the retail or microfinance banking space.
  • MCP Certification in microfinance banking will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Chief Finance Officer

  • The Chief financial officer (CFO) would be responsible for managing the financial actions of the company.
  • The CFO's duties include tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions.

  • Relevant professional qualifications/affiliations such as ICAN, CIBN, CFA, ACIB etc.
  • A minimum of 8 years diverse banking experience (i.e. banking, insurance, microfinance, etc.) as well as experience in multi-functional roles within the industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience within the financial services industry.
  • Prior microfinance experience is desirable, particularly within a microfinance bank with international ties.

Job Title: Head, Credit & Risk Management

Job Description

  • The Head, Credit & Risk Management be responsible for the monitoring and management of the risk portfolio of the Bank.
  • The job holder will develop and implement systems, policies and procedures aimed at risk mitigation.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing implementing & managing the overall risk management process for the bank by developing the risk management framework, policies, processes, procedures and reporting standards that define the bank’s risk strategy and appetite in line with its overall business objectives.
  • Monitor the business development for emerging risks and recommend policies and procedures to improve the risk management process.
  • Facilitate the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, controlling and reporting the level of risks
  • Maintain oversight over the bank’s enterprise risk management activities.
  • Provide support, education and training to staff in order to create risk awareness.
  • Ensures proper documentation of credits by adhering to set documentation standards and procedures.
  • Define credit approval framework and recommend credit approval limits in line with banks’ policy.
  • Analysis and appraisal of Individual credit requests in accordance with approved policies and procedures to ensure that credit exposures are created subject to stipulated guidelines.
  • Conduct periodic stress tests and scenario analysis, assessing the impact to the Bank’s credit portfolio and make appropriate recommendations to senior management for appropriate action.
  • Support the loan remediation team, in negotiating work out plans and strategies for delinquent customers and provide additional support with respect to exposures requiring collection agencies or legal action
  • Review and analyze the delinquent portfolio to identify key causal factors, make recommendations and track them to ensure adequate and timely closure.
  • Monitor violations of credit policies, provide analysis, conclusion and recommendations, present findings to senior management and suggest actions/penalties to be taken when appropriate.
  • Prepare timely, comprehensive and reliable credit risk reports to senior management and board on a regular basis
  • Flexibility to carry out any other task as requested by Management.

Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc / in Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Evidence of completion/ exemption of/from NYSC.
  • Evidence of completion of Microfinance Certification program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role at a microfinance bank or Fintech.
  • Candidate for this position must not be more than 32 years as at January 1st, 2022.
