Job Title: Laboratory Manager

Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

  • Supervise performance of a range of clinical laboratory tests and analysis on biological samples.
  • Supervise performance of standard procedures according to established protocols.
  • Monitor implementation and maintenance of ISO 15189 standard.
  • Ensure staff safely follow laboratory and procedure protocols.
  • Oversee Utilization, calibration, configuration and/or troubleshooting of laboratory testing systems and instruments.
  • Analyze, verify and manipulate laboratory data.
  • Adhere to time and priority management.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate staff.
  • Provide effective communication with effective interpersonal skills.
  • Write and speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ensure staff safely work with, properly store or eliminate various laboratory reagents, chemicals, media and other lab materials.
  • Ensure staff safely operate laboratory equipment with good hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Maintain and assist with order and inventory of equipment, supplies and reagents for the lab.
  • Perform literature searches using computers and databases.
  • Understand and use computer databases in managing the LIMS.
  • Work with the Quality Manager to plan and conduct internal audits as well as external audits
  • Perform as a team member and foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Report to the COO
  • Maintain records of tests examination; plot or chart results according to approved procedures.
  • Supervise hiring, training and scheduling of work assignments for all operational and support staff
  • Manage and direct the daily operations of the laboratory.
  • Manage sample transportation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) with a current annual practicing license
  • 5+ years of progressive management or supervisory experience
  • 10+ years of post-graduation experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Experience in medical laboratory accreditation is an advantage
  • Evidence of Management training or MBA is an advantage
  • Must be trained on the 12 Essentials of Medical Laboratory Quality Management System
  • Must be trained on Logistics and Supply chain Management
  • Training on biosafety and Infection Control is an advantage

Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain a Quality Management system for the lab
  • Development/periodic review of lab Quality Management system and relevant documents (including SOPs)
  • Update and maintain documents needed for the Lab Quality, i.e., Quality SOPs that support the Quality Management system
  • Maintain working knowledge of up-to-date applicable guidelines and regulations related to Medical Laboratory Quality Management System
  • Report proposed changes to policies & procedures to the Management team for consideration
  • Development of QA/QC activities plan and other relevant documents for lab departments to ensure all lab activities are in line with its quality policies and relevant guidelines
  • Ensures that data are recorded, analyzed, and recoded in accordance with protocols and relevant standards
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Lab documentation databases and systems in accordance with the lab's quality policies and relevant guidelines / standards.
  • Coordinate EQA, internal audits and external audits as needed, to ensure ongoing compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate periodic SOP review/approval process for lab departments
  • Develop and share reports on QA/QC activities, internal/external audit results detailing key observations and Corrective and Preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Implement CAPA plans for any deficiencies identified following an internal or external audit
  • Develop and provide comprehensive Lab Quality Training for all staff
  • Conduct quality training as needed for new staff
  • Ensures proper maintenance of all lab controlled documents, to include databases and systems in accordance to relevant guidelines and ISO 15189
  • Conduct regular quality meetings to review quality control documents, quality assurance and improvement plans
  • Work with the IT team in ensuring documentation supporting software system validation is current and that documentation demonstrating IT related vendor and contractor qualification audits and approvals are current
  • Track and support implementation of the Laboratory Annual Audit Plans as needed to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations, standards and guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (Bmls) with a current annual practicing license or biological sciences.
  • 5+ years QA, Bio analytical experience, or related expertise in support of laboratory, manufacturing, clinical research, pharmaceuticals, biologics or medical devices industry
  • Must be trained on the 12 Essentials of Medical Laboratory Quality Management System
  • 5+ years of post NYSC experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Training in Medical laboratory assessment or auditing desired
  • Experience in medical laboratory accreditation is an advantage

Job Title: Chief Accountant / Finance Officer

Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

  • Excellent knowledge of bank reconciliations, payment gateway reconciliation and recurring revenue
  • Accounting, Finance, Reporting & Internal Controls;
  • Overall accountability of Finance & Accounts function with specific focus on operational financial direction, reviewing and evaluating operating mechanism
  • Providing leadership to Finance and Accounting
  • Providing support to all departments and the management team and help in making financial decisions
  • Provide the organization with all financial requirements on a timely and accurate basis
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports.

Job Title: Administrative / Human Resources Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Report to: The COO

Job Description

  • Assist with coordinating activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the contract management system, including assisting departments with preparing, executing, and maintaining contracts and other agreements.
  • Build and maintain databases and files for the Organization including organizing files.
  • Work with the Laboratory manager on procurement
  • Work with Laboratory Manager on work schedules
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
  • Writes directives on Company policy regarding compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets the organizational needs in accordance to ISO 15189
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational goals.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Prepares budget of human resources operations.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Work with the Laboratory Manager to organize competency assessments
  • Ensure Medical Laboratory Scientists and other staff engage in regular continuous professional development trainings
  • Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • B.Sc degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences or a Medical Laboratory Scientist with HR experience
  • Proven work experience in HR (3 years minimum)
  • 3-5 years cognate experience as a management staff in administrative and/or Human Resource role
  • Proven work experience in the Health Sector
  • Must possess CIPM, SHRI or any relevant and recognized HR professional certification.
  •  Working knowledge of the Health sector and surrounding regulations and legislation
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Suite
