Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is established in 2018 as registered NGO with Head Office in Maiduguri - Borno State, with offices across Yobe and Adamawa state. We have been visible in Borno Adamawa and Yobe states implementing projects in Education, Protection (Child /GBV), WaSH, Nutrition, Empowerment/Livelihood, Governance and Peace Building. Our approach is aligned with our mission to enhance services delivery and empower citizens, through our Humanitarian, Development, and peace building nexus (HDP).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Consortium Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time

Dimension of the Role

  • The Consortium Manager will report to CATAI’s Executive Director, and the Consortium Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring compliance with CATAI and donor policies, actively contributing to the coordination of the Consortium work plan and providing technical support to CATAI NHF Consortium members and partners.
  • Furthermore, the role will include the creation and coordination of the use of consortium management and implementation tools.
  • Additionally, the role involves quality control and technical support for implementing partners, serving as the consortium focal point, and assessing opportunities for program improvement. for administrative and human resource matters, while alsoreporting to and being accountable to the Executive Director, The Consortium Manager will operate for the effective implementation and operations of the partner’s project.Some responsibilities associated with the role include: -

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to CATAI and donor policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
  • Contribute to the coordination of the implementation of the Consortium work plan (activities, budget, and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements.
  • Provide specific technical support and coordination towards and between NHF Consortium parties, partners, and staff.
  • Conduct quality control and provide technical support to implementing partners and/or contractors
  • Act as the primary Focal point of the project within the consortium.
  • Assess, promote, and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
  • Managing the consortium budget, assets, and resources
  • Representing the consortium to external stakeholders - donors, government, coordination bodies, and local and international NGOs.
  • Network with relevant actors to help achieve consortium objectives.
  • Responsible for all aspects of grant management including but not limited to submitting high-quality proposals to donors, financial and programmatic reporting, grant filing, partnership agreements, and sharing grant information (reports, proposals, agreements) with consortium members.
  • Coordinating the monitoring and evaluation of member activities as needed for reporting, learning, and possibly advocacy purposes.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Coordinating with consortium members to ensure high-quality implementation of activities, compliance with donor and consortium rules, and accountability to beneficiaries.
  • Ensuring effective coordination and communication among consortium members, steering and technical committees, and programmatic and finance/support teams across partners, donors, and other stakeholders. Coordination is one of the key elements of the position.

Key Competencies

  • Relevant University Degree or Higher Education preferable in Social Studies
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programmatic implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (NHF) reporting and respective donor regulations is a plus.
  • Experience with external representation.
  • Experience working in complex emergencies, andvolatile contexts.
  • Proven experience in project cycle management and grant management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and diplomatic skills, including the professional credibility to provide coordination and sometimes guidance to member organizations.
  • Technical experience in managing (multisectoral) grants
  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Budget management and monitoring experience
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Experience working with IDPs or returnees is a plus.

  • Duty Station: Maiduguri
  • Contract Duration: 12 months (3 Month Probation)
  • Travel: up to 20% across project locations.
  • Salary / benefits: According to CATAI Grade 7 salary scale, terms and conditions.
