Job Title: Civil Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Scope

  • The Civil Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing civil engineering projects.
  • This role involves planning, designing, and executing civil engineering projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, while meeting project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and task assignment to team members and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders, and maintain accurate records of project activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to procure materials, equipment, and services required for project execution, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members, mentor junior engineers, and facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Prepare project plans, budgets, and schedules, and regularly report project status updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to oversee construction activities, address any technical issues, and ensure adherence to project specifications.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering roles.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects effectively.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of civil engineering processes and practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work under a Project Manager and report project status effectively.
