Job Summary

  • Lu Gold Integrated Concept Limited is recruiting to fill for the position of a Business Development Officer.
  • The Lead Business Development Manager is responsible for securing new revenue with Lu Gold’s existing and potential portfolio of clients.
  • Please note that this is a supervisory role with three subordinates requiring direct supervision.

Job Description
Overall Job Purpose:

  • The Lead Business Development Officer is responsible for securing new revenue with Lu Gold’s existing portfolio of clients as well as seeking out new clients.
  • The role is expected to have a focus on hunting new business.
  • This is a supervisory role and involves providing direct supervision and guidance to 4 subordinates. Hence this role is for those with leadership experience.
  • The role ensures an excellent client experience at all times and works in collaboration with the account teams to ensure smooth transition of accounts into the business.

Responsibilities
Achieve Set Revenue Growth:

  • Achieve personal sales targets by developing new business with existing vendors/clients and potential vendors/clients.
  • Actively and successfully manage registration process for vendors/customers.
  • Develop new client relationships.
  • Present effective and professional conversations to vendors regarding Lu Gold and its e-commerce services/partners.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline and ensure all Vendor administration is kept current at all times using Slack & Asana software.
  • Develop, maintain and apply a high level knowledge of the partner universities and products..
  • Report on Registration, Product Activity and performance as required by E-commerce manager.
  • Ensure activities comply with legal and ethical standards as well as Lu gold Policies.
  • Take a solutions and consultative sell approach to ensure vendors/clients needs are accurately met.
  • Create and implement a structured plan to achieve set targets.
  • Develop and Implement Data Collection Strategies.
  • Undertake vendor communication through phone calls, ensuring that the number of calls meets call targets as set by management.
  • Schedule and attend client meetings, ensuring that number of meetings meets targets as set by management.
  • Participate in awareness campaigns to drive patronage and increase client and product growth.

Qualifcations / Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Degree.
  • Experience Level: Senior.
  • Experience Length: 2 years.

Industry Experience:

  • Knowledge of the market, current media issues, social media, competitor behavior and strategy.

Skills
Technical Skills:

  • Experience in a direct marketing and onboarding of clients; consistent track record of success in achieving and succeeding targets;
  • Proven ability in targeting clients that are difficult to convince;
  • A confident negotiator with proven ability to close the deal; a positive and determined approach to researching and analyzing a customer’s personality.

Management Skills:

  • Highly required.

Technology Skills:

  • Good Microsoft Office Suite Competence, Web Proficiency.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent English, 1 Local Nigerian language.

Communication Skills:

  • Exemplary Communication Skills – both face to face and over the telephone. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to generate ideas and solutions; self- motivated and results driven; excellent relationship management skills; team player; innovative; a genuine interest in news and current affairs; excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Proactive determined target hunter.

Remuneration
N50,000 monthly plus commission on profit.
