  • In collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for a Projects Officer
  • This position is a local position and is open to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.
Summary of Position
  • The Projects Officer is charged with the responsibility of assisting in managing all aspects of the livelihood intervention project
  • Under the direction of the supervisor, the Project Officer will work with a view to ensure that the project livelihoods funded by UNHCR is implemented in accordance with its mission and vision.
Position Requirements
  • B.Sc/HND in Agriculture or a related field with two (2) years hands on experience either training and or providing other support to farmers in rural setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills
  • Experienced in conducting workshops and engaging partners
  • Good people management skills
  • Intermediate to expert level competence with MS Office and database applications.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Academic expertise, administrative experience and marketing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to make clear, timely decisions.
  • Good computer knowledge and ability to use basic MS office applications
  • Significant relevant experience, preferably in a community focused project
  • Experience managing a team of people
  • Very good report writing skills
  • A good knowledge of M&E systems and processes
  • Knowledge of basic statistical packages
Other Requirements, Abilities for the Position:
  • Good understanding of the challenge and significance of building a new Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development center
  • Should have the ability to interact effectively with staff and partners
  • Dynamic and innovative personality.
  • Experience living and working in northern Nigeria will be an advantage
