Animal Nutritionist Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of an Animal Nutritionist:

A degree in nutrition, animal/veterinary science, medical sciences, agriculture, dietetics, animal husbandry, animal nutrition, anatomy and physiology.
Ability to undertake independent research.
Ability to communicate with clients, customers and fellow scientists.
IT and numeracy skills.
Animal nutritionists must have a sound grasp of mathematical concepts to be able to calculate food ratios.
Self management and self motivation.
Ability to write reports and keep good records.
