  • The position is responsible for growing the business’ market share by developing a pipeline of new and viable businesses
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prospect for viable clients and ensure these are turned into increased business
  • Forecast and set sales targets and ensure that these are met by the team
  • Attend relevant industry and social functions using such fora as  means to market the company’s services
  • Responsible for managing key accounts
  • Research and develop new services that would meet clients’ needs and seek for necessary approvals from management
  • Track and record activities on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • Gather business intelligence on competitors and use such to the advantage of the company
  • Develop the company’s competitive advantage and sell this to existing and new clients
  • Generate unique business ideas that will result in higher profitability for the business
  • Take active part in management and pricing meetings
  • Organise trainings for team members and other internal staff
  • Generate periodic reports capturing the necessary metrics for business decisions
  • Carry out other related assignments by the Managing Director
Qualifications and Experiences
  • A  First degree of not less than Second Class (upper division) or HND (Upper credit) in any of the business, Social Sciences or sciences disciplines from a reputable university
  • A Post Graduate degree in a related field would be an added advantage
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute
  • 10 years cognate work experience, with at least 5 years of heading a business development unit of a shipping company
  • Must be very conversant with maritime laws and regulations guiding the industry
    Job Title: Designated Person - Ashore Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Job Description
  • The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) oversees the day- to-day vessel operations, maintaining close working relationship with the relevant bodies, departments and persons in line with standard operations processes to ensure attainment of the business objectives.
  • Supervises the safety chain of the vessel operations; a reliable connection between the management and the crew members by ensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support are applied.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure company vessels, equipment and related assets are managed and operated in a safe, efficient and in a cost effective manner in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
  • Develop and build relationships with key maritime service providers
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as NIMASA and other authorized parties to ensure that statutory clearances are met on all areas of operation.
  • Work closely with the administrative department to ensure timely delivery of supplies, and that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the ISM / ISPS codes, both on board the vessels
  • Ensure Lost Time Injuries (LTI) is reduced to zero throughout the year in all business locations.
  • Induct new office and on board personnel visiting the office with the requirements of the IMS related to operational issues.
  • Brief and de-brief Masters and Chief Engineers before and after appointment
  • Ensure that all audit requirements for office and vessels are met
  • Carry out other related assignments by the Head of Operations.
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Master Class 1 or Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competency or equivalent highly desirable
  • Proper Master COC- Class 1 or 2 License
  • Must have at least 10 years shore based experience preferably handling offshore & DP2 vessels
  • Must have worked as Master and/or DPA
  • Must be a Nigerian nationality with minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in offshore/shipping industry.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the management of vessel and shipping operations
  • Excellent knowledge of flag states and class requirements.
    Job Title: Chief Operating Officer, Shipping Services Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers Job Summary
  • The position reports to the Group Managing Director and is responsible for the overall management and optimal operations of the company’s business
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop  and maximise the operational and financial performance of the company’s marine assets
  • Responsible  for the technical & financial performance of the company
  • Prepare and review the business budget
  • Maximise fleet utilisation revenue and increase revenue by developing new and existing business opportunities
  • Managing the different businesses of the company such as the vessel management, clearing and forwarding  and the chartering/brokerage departments
  • Ensure that requirements stipulated in the IMS are properly implemented and maintained by all departments.
  • Communicate and take decisions relating to specific commercial  matters
  • Ensure that the planning of the IMS is carried out in order to meet the requirements of the applicable standards as well as the set objectives
  • Ensure that the Company's emergency response capability is correctly defined, maintained in a proper state of readiness and regularly exercised to test its adequacy.
  • Preside over management review meetings and ensure that any subsequent actions are carried out as soon as is practicable thereafter
  • Verify and approve the issuance or amendments to the controlled documents of the IMS.
  • Approve any major repairs proposed by the Technical Manager
  • Lead & motivate staff & crews
  • Carry out other related assignments by the Group Managing Director
Qualifications, Experiences and Attributes
  • A shipping business professional who possesses a clear understanding of managing all aspects of shipping business
  • Previous experience must demonstrate a strong track record in co-ordinating the day to day shipping operations together with setting and achieving the long term business development strategy.
  • A first degree from a reputable university
  • Required professional certifications from recognised Maritime institutions
  • 15 years continuous marine experience with maritime/shipping companies, 8 of which must have been spent managing shipping companies
  • Must be very conversant with international and local maritime laws and regulations guiding the industry
  • Good working knowledge of computer skills
  • Must be willing to travel at short notices
    Job Title: Technical Superintendent Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Job Description
  • The Technical Superintendent is responsible for directly managing, supporting and providing direction and leadership to the Chief Engineers, Second Engineers and the Engine Ratings on board the different vessels.
  • He will coordinate and direct the technical activities and maintenance of the Vessels, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all activities on the vessels are carried out according to State, Class, Flag and client requirements including the reporting of accidents and dangerous occurrences
  • Coordinate and direct the technical activities and maintenance of the Vessel, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities with business priorities.
  • Ensure that vessels planned maintenance system (Engine Department) is being operated and managed. Implement a preventive maintenance programme using the appropriate systems.
  • Liaise with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers as required and providing technical advice and assistance when necessary.
  • Plan and direct the testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment on the vessels.
  • Carry out the maintenance activities within the approved budget.
  • Manage and develop an existing team of Engineers, with the emphasis upon on-going process improvement
  • Responsible for dry docking of vessels, surveys etc. to ensure statutory requirements are met.
  • Oversee the activities of vessel department members and other technical officers appropriately.
  • Ensure that all marine activities are carried out in a healthy and safe manner and in strict adherence to safety rules and procedures in collaboration with the Designated Person Ashore (DPA).
  • Direct, review, and present alterations and additions (As & As) on system and equipment on-board for approval.
  • Ensure that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner
  • Carry out other related assignments by the Head of Operations
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Successful applicant must be COC holder as Chief Engineer or equivalent such as engineering in mechanical/marine engineering
  • Proper Chief Engineer COC- Class 1 License
  • Must have at least 10 years shore based experience preferably handling offshore & DP2 vessels.
  • Must have worked as Chief Engineer and Technical Superintendent for at least 5 years
  • Must be a Nigerian nationality with minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in offshore/shipping industry
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, must be a good team player with strong technical, analytical & computer skills.
