The Nigeria Field Support Services Project (FSSP), managed by TRANSTEC is a project designed by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) to assist in ensuring quality and relevance of Canada development program in responding to Nigeria’s development challenges. We are recruiting to fill the positions below:     Job Title: Technical Specialist - Entrepreneurship & Economic Empowerment Location: Abuja Job Description

  • This position is a 50-day assignment to provide expert analysis and advice on Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment related issues, trends and practices in Nigeria as they relate to Canada’s development programme.
Requirements Education:
  • Postgraduate Degree, such as a Masters, from an accredited, recognized institution in a relevant discipline such as Business, Economics, International Development, or a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience working on economic issues in international development, at least 5 years of which should be in Nigeria.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in development programming focused on innovation and creating better enabling business environments for women and youth, preferably working with the private sector, philanthropic institutions, and/or social enterprises.
  • Prior experience with donor funding and donor approaches to integrating gender equality considerations into women’s economic empowerment (WEE) and entrepreneurship.
  • Knowledge of how gender equality and women’s interests are represented and promoted in Nigeria’s federal, state and local governments including gender related strategies, plans and flagship programs.
  • Asset
  • Demonstrated experience designing entrepreneurship or economic empowerment programs
  • Extensive contacts/network in sector
  • Knowledge of innovative finance
  • Demonstrated experience of 5 years or more providing advice, including drafting briefing notes, sectoral analyses, and monitoring and assessment reports for senior decision makers in donor agencies, government or civil society organizations or the private sector. Samples of work to be supplied upon request.

      Job Title: Entrepreneurship & Economic Empowerment Advisor Location: Abuja Job Description
