Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerians for appointment to the post of Bursar, University of Benin, Benin  City, Nigeria.
JOB TITLE: Bursar
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and as the Chief Financial Officer of the University is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

THE PERSON: Applicants for the post of Bursar must have
in the past exhibited considerable degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency on matters of financial resource management. Applicants must be in good health and able to endure the rigours of the duties of the Bursar. Also, candidates must be found to possess the
following qualities: vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. In addition, candidates should have the ability to develop linkages with external communities to support emerging needs of the University, command respect and
arouse cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the
University.

Candidates are to write in not more than five hundred (500) words, their vision for the University in funds generation and management for the next five years.

Prospective candidates must show innovative approaches to the running of an ICT-driven Bursary working at the highest
level of efficiency to eliminate time wasting, bureaucracy, bottlenecks and fraud.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess a good honours degree in Accounting as well as professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications, e.g. ACMA, ACA, CPA, ACCA, CNA. Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.

PLUS:
Fifteen (15) years post-qualification cognate experience, at least 5 of which must have been as a Deputy Bursar or in top managerial positions in a University setting or similar institutions. Currently serving Deputy Bursars/Officers in Top.
Managerial positions with less than 5 (five) years to retirement in their respective organizations, need not apply

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: 
The successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years only on such terms and conditions applicable to Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and the Governing Council.
