The Role
- The Technical Support Staff will play a vital role in ensuring seamless production and timely delivery of PVC/PU belts, while also supporting on-site belt and conveyor maintenance jobs.
- They will collaborate with Projects/Service Engineers to uphold operational efficiency, strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure safety and quality standards are consistently met.
- This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, efficient resource utilization, and unwavering attention to quality, with a focus on zero reworks, timely execution, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
PVC/PU Belt Production:
- Assist in setting up and operating production equipment for PVC/PU belt manufacturing.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs for production processes, including material selection, cutting, and joining.
- Perform routine inspections during production to guarantee adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and resolve potential production bottlenecks, ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Maintain accurate production records and submit regular reports on outputs, reworks, and inventory utilization.
On-Site Maintenance Support:
- Collaborate with service engineers on belt and conveyor maintenance jobs at client locations.
- Conduct pre-job inspections, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
- Maintain organized records of maintenance activities, including completed jobs, client feedback, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing conveyor systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime.
Operational Efficiency:
- Regularly calibrate and maintain production and maintenance tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure that all tools, equipment and other resources are cleaned and properly stored back to respective storage places after every task/service.
- Maintain an orderly and safe working environment, promptly addressing potential hazards.
- Conduct routine safety checks on tools and machinery to guarantee compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline production and maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaboration and Client Engagement:
- Serve as a critical link between production teams, service engineers, and clients, ensuring expectations are aligned.
- Proactively communicate with supervisors on maintenance activities and ensure their feedback is incorporated into service improvements.
Key Requirements
- ND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience in technical support, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance.
- Practical knowledge of conveyor systems, electromechanical equipment, or belt production is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong customer focus and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and internal teams.
