Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) has a long and rich history that could be traced back to 1965 when the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) was established in the then Midwest Region of Nigeria. In September 1978, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) which was earlier established to replace the NBC Metamorphosed into Radio Bendel with a Television arm added in 1980 to complement its service.

With the Creation of Edo State in August 1991, the outfit became Edo Broadcasting Service.
It's vision is to Inform, Educate, Entertain the Public and Become the Leading, Credible Voice and Face of Edo State. With a mandate to deliver News and information to people within and Outside Edo State, it's mission is to highlight Government's Programmes, Projects and Activities; Leverage on existing Technology for Service Delivery and be a high-performing, financially viable, digitized, State public broadcasting corporation.

Job Title: Telecom / Broadcast / Sound Engineer

Job Description

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust audio, video, lighting. and broadcast equipment to ensure consistent quality. Set up and take down equipment for events and live performances.
  • Record speech, music, and other sounds on recording equipment or computers, sometimes using complex software.
  • Broadcast, sound, and video technicians set up. operate, and maintain the electrical equipment for radio programs, television broadcasts, concerts, sound recordings, and movies.

Responsibilities
Broadcast, sound, and video technicians typically do the following:

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust audio, video, sound. lighting, and broadcast equipment to ensure consistent quality
  • Install audio, video, and lighting equipment in hotels, offices, and schools
  • Report any problems that arise with complex equipment and make routine repairs
  • Keep records of recordings and equipment used.
  • Set up and take down equipment for events and live performances
  • Record speech, music, and other sounds on recording equipment or computers, sometimes using complex software
  • Synchronize sounds and dialogue with action taking place on television or in movie productions
  • Convert video and audio records to digital formats for editing on computers

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess OND / HND / B.Sc Degrees in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or B.Sc Degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related course such as (BE Broadcast / Communications Technology) with relevant work experience.
  • Age limit not more than 35 years.

Specific Qualities:

  • Communication skills. To communicate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Computer skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • A steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.
