Job Title: Team Lead, Credit Administration

Job Purpose

  • To establish and maintain appropriate structures and procedures for the administration of the Bank’s risk asset portfolio and individual risk exposures, ensuring that the controls necessary to sustain the Bank’s seniority and protection of its exposure (on- and off-balance sheet activities) are not circumvented.

Responsibilities
Leads and oversee the Credit Administration Team under the following tasks:

  • Reviews and ensures that conditions precedent to drawdown are satisfied in line with the obtained approval, and that appropriate signoffs are obtained before facility disbursement.
  • Restricting the utilisation of expired lines and ensuring timely renewal of approved credit facilities.
  • Effective monitoring of credit facilities availed to ensure adherence to the approved terms and conditions.
  • Ensure timely submission and accurate reporting of returns to management and various regulatory bodies. The reports include Credit Print Out, Credit Bureau Returns, NPF report, CRMS Returns, Dud Cheque Report, Facility Monitoring Report etc.
  • Monitor the transaction dynamics and performance of all risk assets and promptly report expired and non-performing facilities for classification.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date credit files in respect of all approved facilities. Conducting periodic audit of credit files and ensure safe-keeping of virtual credit files and documents.
  • Tracking the movement and custody of credit files.
  • Ensure that tangible collateral is valued and adequate to cover the Bank’s exposure.
  • Effective monitoring of the credit portfolio to ensure compliance with extant policies & guidelines and maintain a healthy risk asset portfolio.
  • Periodic preparation and review of bank-wide risk assets portfolio report to assess the risk on the Bank’s portfolio.
  • Perform secretariat services for the Management Credit Committee (MCC).
  • Provide support to all departments within the Bank on credit-related issues.
  • Conduct independent enquiries on obligors and training employees (RMS and officers) on the use of the credit risk management system (CRMS) and how to conduct independent enquiries on their customers, using information from credit bureaus.
  • Maintain deferral Schedule and track approved deferral for regularization.
  • Assess and onboard Risk Management vendors and maintain a healthy relationship with the vendors.

Requirements / Skills / Competencies

  • First Degree or its equivalent preferably in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Law or any other related discipline
  • A related professional certification such as RIMAN, CIBN, ACA, FRM, ACCA or CFA will be an added advantage
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication (oral & written) and Interpersonal Skills
  • Essential knowledge of finance
  • Knowledge of Islamic finance products and dynamics.
  • 5 - 8 years cognate experience demonstrated in Credit Risk Management and/or other relevant functions in a financial institution
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Data Analytics/Analytical/Problem-solving skills

Competitive (according to market rate and experience).
