Job Title: Talent Manager

Job Description
The Human Resources Department of the HealthPlus Group has an immediate opening for a Talent Manager. This position will be located at the Head Office in the Lekki area of Lagos and will report to the Head, Human Resources. The Talent Manager will create and implement talent management programs, products and processes, designed to increase organizational effectiveness.  While the role has strategic elements, what is key to the role is the person’s ability to execute mid- to large scale projects and initiatives. This position will drive various aspects of the HealthPlus Group’s talent management platform, including: creating and executing development programs, driving talent reviews, administering performance management and goal-setting processes, succession planning, conduct of organizational surveys and evaluations, competency modeling and career development initiatives.

Key Elements of the Role
Reports to the Head, Human Resources

Learning & Development
  • Conduct of ongoing assessment of needs and prioritize Learning & Development projects and initiatives company-wide
  • Guide HR Business Partner and other key partners in understanding the learning progression, and help them appreciate and support the 70/20/10 model of development
  • Design or provide additional tools and resources that support development beyond formal training, which may include relationship- or on-the-job experiences and resources that drive development and the transfer of learning.
  • Rigorously keep-up with consulting/training industry trends to provide effective and meaningful learning solutions to client groups
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the HR and business community
  • Identify and organise those company resources needed to support the work
  • Identify performance gaps and provide recommendations for appropriate learning solutions
  • Partner with departmental heads to develop learning strategies to build capabilities and engagement to drive performance and results
  • Act as a point of contact with regards to Learning and Development for HR Business Partners and clients; consult with clients to develop learning strategies which best support business and organizational goals. Apply learning theory/models, benchmark best practices/trends, and maintain knowledge of cutting-edge approaches in order to deliver learning solutions for lasting impact
Performance Management
  • Design and implement the performance appraisal and objective-setting process
  • Serve as a resource to HR Business Partners in driving the process within their businesses
  • Partner with HR Systems to ensure seamless execution of online processes
Talent Review Process
  • Identify and implement best practice processes to support Talent Review initiatives–which include the accurate identification of high potential talent within and outside the Organization
  •  Analyze and synthesize data from talent review sessions into meaningful conclusions that enhance fact-based talent decision-making; report key talent metrics
  • Manage post-talent review processes that ensure proper follow-through of actions determined at talent review sessions
Change Management
  • Lead the design, development and roll-out of regular company-wide employee engagement surveys and related activities – including data analysis and interpretation, action planning and follow-up
  • Assist in the communication of company values
  • Support the execution of various culture change initiatives across the Group
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences or a related field, Humanities or a related field with 7 years’ minimum experience in a structured organization, 4 of which must be in a managerial capacity
  • Experience in curriculum design and course development of management/leadership development programs
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and competency-based content development, with proven facilitation skills
  • Experience in conduct of training program evaluation and analysis of training ROI
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages, like Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Professional membership of CIPMN, SHRM, TMCP, TAS, is an advantage
  • Able to effectively envision, develop and implement new strategies to address competing, complex business issues and provide practical leadership in the long-range planning and design of  organisational development and learning programs
