Terre des hommes (Tdh) is a child relief Non-Governmental Organization with a presence in over 30 countries of the world and more than 90 projects. Our goal is to make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of children in need. We support children in areas of Child and Maternal health, protection, Water and sanitation and Migration. Our humanitarian services sector aid children in crisis situations across the world. Tdh in Nigeria implements projects in Health, Wash and Child Protection sectors.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Supply Chain Assistant

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time

General Description of the Position

  • This position is a Nigerian national position. Position is based in Maiduguri with regular travel within the regions of Tdh operations in Nigeria.
  • The Supply Chain Assistant will provide a comprehensive and coherent administrative support for the Tdh logistics operations in Maiduguri and other field sites in Nigeria.
  • The purpose of the position is to implement logistic activities regarding the projects and the base(s) of TDH, more specifically: Procurement - Supply and Reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Supply:

  • Updating procurement tracker
  • Updating price list
  • Update supplier database
  • Updating contract tracker
  • Cross checking quality/quantity of deliveries received and ensure related documents (delivery notes, waybills) are properly filed with copies forwarded to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensure proper coordination linking receipts to the Logistics Officer (Warehousing)
  • Filling/ photocopying of procurement documents.

Reporting:

  • Submit updated procurement tracker on monthly basis
  • Submit updated contract tracker on monthly basis o Submit updated price list on monthly basis
  • Submit updated supplier database monthly.

Security:

  • Comply with Tdh Security Regulations.

Other:

  • Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is always upheld
  • Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities
  • Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh administrative and
  • logistical regulations and procedures.
  • The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.

Job Requirements
Knowledge:

  • Should possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years work experience.
  • Formal education / training in logistics desired - can be compensated with experience (at discretion of evaluation team)
  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful environment
  • Previous experience in emergency response is appreciated
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Significant previous experience with similar tasks, particularly in procurement
  • Advance IT knowledge (hardware and software, Microsoft Office, Internet, Server, LINUX) Previous experience with an NGO is desirable

Skills:

  • Required qualities: organized, sense of human relations, diplomacy, communication skills
  • Desirable: proactive, autonomous, rigorous, analytical, willingness and motivation to work in an international and intercultural context
  • To have a valid driving license is an asset.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), Hausa and Kanuri.
