Overview of Position     

  • The State Facilitators will provide support to our clients Gen U 9ja activities & intersectoral programs at state level.
  • They will provide essential linkages between goverments (govt's), private sector, youth groups & most importantly our clients NCO field offices of implementation, serving to coordinate young people’s integration to improve the reach, engagement & impact of our clients Generation Unlimited (GenU 9JA) through u report & the Youth Agency Marketplace (YOMA) platforms.
  • They will also supervise & coordinate the Young People Action Team (YPATs) & volunteers across the select states within their region.
  • The State Facilitators will also play a critical role in reporting on challenges & follow up, escalate & close cases raised in the u partners platform.
  • They will also work with partners & organizations to develop context specific polls for u report and content design on YOMA.
  • Their presence in the field will provide the required program monitoring to ensure maintenance of quality of implementation according to national & international protocols as well as an independent layer of accountability.

Role Objectives
In close consultations with the supervisor, the State Facilitators will coordinate with our clients Gen U 9ja activities including the following:

Support to programs development & planning:

  • Support the generation of evidence based data for adolescents & young people & implementation of activities to promote their development & participation at state level. They will also support monitoring results on related programs / projects.
  • Support research work on adolescents’ participation & namely the mapping on existing youth led organizations at state level.
  • Contribute to the goals, objectives, strategies & implementation plans for the adolescent development programs/projects.
  • Enhance adolescents’ & young people’s participation, engagement & development priorities, through u report, YOMA & challenges.
  • Support our clients field offices to identify & support the delivery of programs for adolescents & young people’s participation & development.
  • Coordinate state level campaigns for better reach, meaningful engagement & improved impact.
  • Prepare relevant documentations including reports & recruitment forecasts, states' progress, goals & quarterly initiatives based on the agreed targets for program review & approval.
  • Work closely & collaboratively with GenU Nigeria secretariat team, colleagues & partners to discuss methodologies & to assess national priorities / competencies to ensure the achievement of concrete & sustainable results for GenU Nigeria’s youth engagement pillar.

Program management, monitoring & delivery of results:

  • Contribute to tracking results & monitoring performance indicators contributing to the delivery of sustainable results on adolescent & young people’s development programs & projects, with a particular focus on u report, YOMA & other activities.
  • Participate in monitoring & evaluation exercises, program reviews & annual reviews with our clients GenU 9JA team & partners such as govt., private sector partners & other counterparts to assess progress & to determine required action / interventions to achieve results at scale.
  • Monitor & verify the optimum / appropriate use of program resources (financial, administrative & other assets) confirming compliance with organizational rules, regulations / procedures & donor commitments, standards of accountability, integrity & ensuring timely reporting & liquidation of resources.
  • Prepare regular / mandated program / project reports for management, partners to keep them informed of program progress.
  • Prepare / assess routine monitoring & evaluation reports to identify gaps, strengths / weaknesses in program & management, identify lessons learned & use knowledge gained for development planning & timely intervention to achieve goals.
  • Actively monitor state level adolescent development programs / projects, such as u report, YOMA & YPAT.

Technical & operational support to program implementation:

  • Provide technical guidance & operational support to our clients GenU 9ja adolescent development & participation to support program management, implementation & delivery of results. This will include providing regular monitoring of u report, designing & organizing youth challenge, supporting the YPAT throughout the country & working closely with the govt. counterparts such as national youth service corps.
  • Create mechanisms for engagement with the youth to help improve both u report & YOMA platform.
  • Supporting activities related to the operational research, including research, analysis & synthesizing of information gathered during engagement sessions.
  • Participate in program meetings including our clients contribution to GenU program development & contingency planning to provide technical & operational information, advice & support.

Networking & partnership building:

  • Contribute to building & sustaining effective close working partnerships with relevant partners such as private sector partners, youths, govt. counterparts, state stakeholders & academia through active networking, advocacy & effective communication to reinforce cooperation to achieve sustainable & broad results on adolescent development & participation initiatives onboard our clients GenU 9ja.
  • Prepare communication & information materials for program advocacy to promote awareness, establish partnerships / alliances for our clients GenU 9JA on young peoples engagement & to ensure that adolescent development & participation programs & initiatives are adequately resourced & supported.
  • Participate & / or represent our clients in appropriate adolescent & young people's activities, discussions & planning.

Innovation, knowledge management & capacity building:

  • Apply / introduce innovative approaches & good practices on adolescent development & participation to build the capacity of GenU partners & stakeholders & to support the implementation & delivery of concrete & sustainable program results.
  • Keep abreast, research, benchmark & implement best practices on adolescent development & participation. Assess, institutionalize & share best practices & knowledge learned.
  • Contribute to the development & implementation of policies & procedures to ensure optimum efficiency & efficacy of sustainable programs & projects.

Deliverables:

  • Achieve assigned monthly recruitment quota in designated LGAs & states.
  • Develop & maintain strategic state account plans.
  • Identify & attend 1 event monthly to showcase u report in designated states.
  • U report churn rate percentage of u reporters who exit the platform.
  • Completeness & accuracy of contacts.
  • Cases resolved on u platform.
  • Collect & publish a minimum of 2 stories from assigned states on social media weekly.
  • Provide bi weekly & monthly reports on reach, enrolment & engagement of u reporters / yomates as required.
  • Provide bi weekly updates on the functioning of the community nutrition volunteers & ward nutrition supervisors.
  • Provide bi weekly updates on the delivery of nutrition services at the facility level.
  • Provide bi weekly updates on the status of nutrition supplies at the facility & LGA level.

Project reporting:

  • The staff will work in close consultations with the supervisor.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

  • BSc / BA in Computer Science, Data Analytics Business, Communications, Marketing, or any related field or the equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be skilled with the use of Rapid Pro.
  • Fluency in English & local Nigerian language(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Self motivated & self directed.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, must be a listener, a presenter & a people person.
  • Working with people.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Able to analyse data & statistics & translate results into efficient programming for improved results outcome.

Sector Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 year/s of demonstrable relevant Communication experience (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 year/s of demonstrable relevant Project Coordination experience (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 year/s of demonstrable relevant Youth Programmes experience (essential).

Geographical experience:

  • Minimum of 5 year/s of experience in Africa (essential).

Languages:

  • Fluent in English (essential).

Team management:
