Mission
- Responsible for executing the operational risk initiatives for MOMO Payment Service Bank Limited ("Momo PSB") and ensuring the implementation of operational risk best practices by analysing current and potential risks and reporting on risk exposures and prevention strategies for the Momo PSB
- Implementation and effective use of the tools for risk assessments and reporting, increased risk management awareness throughout the Momo PSB and achievement of internal processes KPA’s
Description
- Implement the Operational Risk Management Framework for Momo PSB in line with Group Fintech Risk and Compliance frameworks and guardrails.
- Ensure adherence to directives, guidelines, and risk frameworks issued by Group Risk and Compliance-ERM Framework, Risk Philosophy.
- Facilitate risk and control self-assessment development and review for all operational processes to identify risks inherent and residual to the processes.
- Ensure ongoing risk identification, assessment, and reporting to the stakeholders.
- Maintenance of the Operational Loss Database and ensure timely analysis, recording, and reporting of operational risk events that have potential or actual loss impacts.
- Facilitate scenario analysis with BCM to better understand and prepare for the impacts of plausible operational risk events, especially those that expose the bank to significant financial, reputational, or regulatory risks.
- To provide secretarial support for the monthly ERMCO meetings for the purpose of providing a platform for executives and other key stakeholders to carry out periodic deliberations and reviews of all material FinTech risks and ensure appropriate monitoring of controls.
- Provide input to the Manager or Executive Director, as required, relating to progress made within risk assessment and reporting, in accordance with the measurement metrics set by company
- Utilize insights gathered in the reports to make suggestions for continuous improvement to the risk management framework and seek guidance from the supervisors and management on more complex issues.
- Provide risk management analytics data across all possible internal and external risks.
- Ensure the preparation of operational risk management reports for stakeholders when required (i.e., risk exposure reports and exco reports).
- Prepare the ERMCO report and all necessary reports required for the Momo PSB.
- Monitor key risk indicators and provide recommendations.
- Make any updates and/or changes to area-specific enterprise risk documentation, on instruction from the Enterprise Risk Manager, as and when required.
- Drive best practice, continuous improvement, and innovation in the risk management program at the process and procedural level.
- Improve risk awareness across all levels and build risk management capacities across functions in the bank.
- Facilitate product risk assessment with the product teams and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure timely reviews of products at the point of conception or development (URS and LLDs) for proactive identification of gaps and the proffering of reasonable recommendations to address them prior to technical engagement and/or product go-live.
- Work with the Internal Controls team to determine the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of defined controls using control testing or validation methods and arrive at the residual risk.
- Perform regular reviews of the risk processes followed by the business units and report on progress.
- Monitor and report on exposures, as well as perform in-depth evaluations of key risks within the organization.
Qualifications
Education:
- A First Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics or a related field
- Professional qualification in Risk Management (CRM Prac, CRM Prof, CRMA, PRM, CRISC) is advantageous.
- Membership in a professional body is advantageous.
- Fluent in English.
Experience:
- 3 - 7 years’ experience within a FinTech or Banking Operations
- Experience at the management level in the financial sector
- Experience working in a medium- to large organization
- Experience in the e-commerce and electronic payment business is advantageous.
- Experience in data analysis and management, business performance management, or reporting within the fintech, financial sector, or banking industry
