Skills Development Manager at Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria)


DGIC International Business Services Limited is the business unit of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria) which facilitates bilateral trade and investment relations between Nigeria and Germany and is the contact point for all German companies that wish to establish business relations in Nigeria and vice-versa. The position is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Skills Development Manager - Skilled Workers for Germany

Location: Lagos
Job type: Contract

Job Description

  • Focus on relevant industries in Germany with a shortage of skilled labor
  • Proactive analysis, identification and matching of skilled workers in Nigeria and companies in Germany
  • Needs analysis of training differences in comparison to equivalent German training and development of upskilling measures
  • Support of skilled workers with preparation and administrative steps
  • Management of the Skills Programm’s budget as well as regular reporting to senior management of the DGIC International Business Service LTD as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)
  • The contract shall be fixed until December 31, 2025.

Minimum Requirements
We are looking for a reliable, flexible team player who can work independently and self- motivated. We presume excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a solution- oriented, positive mindset.

  • Relevant Diploma / Degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in project development is an advantage
  • Ability to build, maintain and extend industry-specific networks
  • Ability to present to an audience/extensive communication skills
  • Intimate knowledge of German and Nigeria training sectors is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • German language skill B2 (or equivalent) or higher is an advantage
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (incl. MS 365)
  • Willingness to travel in Nigeria and Germany
