Job Title: Senior Procurement Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy:

  • Develop a Procurement Strategy aimed at ensuring long-term, sustainable timely delivery of quality goods / services by best-in-class vendors at optimal prices.
  • Ensure alignment of Procurement strategy with overall business objective
  • Develop best fit procurement processes for the business

Vendor Selection and Contract Management:

  • Define criteria for vendor selection along product/service lines and aligned with Procurement Strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end selection process for vendors in different categories.
  • Negotiate long term SLA with key vendors (Engines, Shipyards, Chandlers, Lube and fuel vendors, OEMs, etc) 
  • Develop a sourcing strategy that guarantees best value for all purchases
  • Identify cost drivers for product/service categories and leverage this to achieve cost savings.
  • Proactive Cost Management - achieve cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment targets, through a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) orientation and process management.
  • Use data analysis to optimize procurement spends by identifying abnormal procurement spends and flagging appropriately.
  • Develop a vendor evaluation and feedback process to ensure that vendors continue to meet Tamrose standards.
  • Monitor SLAs and Contract terms for all suppliers and service providers.
  • Procurement and Sourcing
  • Develop best practice procurement processes that ensure speedy delivery of goods/service to support business operations.
  • Liaise with User Departments to standardise requisition specifications and service needs.

Budge and cost management:

  • Analyse procurement trends to make accurate forecast of procurement needs for the business. 
  • Actively participate in budget planning and monitoring, to ensure cost optimization across all business operations.
  • Identify opportunities to drive down cost and improve value.

Team Development:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Supply Chain department
  • Develop and mentor team members for career development
  • Manage working relationship between the Supply Chain department and other departments

Requirements

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or acceptable equivalent.
  • 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years spent as a Senior Procurement professional Procurement
  • Must have had a wide scope of Procurement experience, covering direct and indirect buying.
  • Ability to demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Oil and Gas/marine services experience is an added advantage for this role.
  • International work exposure is an added advantage for this role.
  • Experience in setting up a corporate procurement function and designing procurement strategies.
  • Ability to provide leadership on technical, people and organisational issues.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Work independently and possess excellent decision- making skills.
