Senior Housekeeper at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Senior Housekeeper

Job ID: STS2024-008
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job type: Contract
Duration: 6 months’ renewable

Duties

  • Assign duties and inspects work to conform with prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Obtain list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective checkouts or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Schedule employees and assign extra days off according to occupancy forecast.
  • Maintain a lost-and-found department, responsible for all lost-and-found items and determine the rightful owner and send correspondences.
  • Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire I-House.
  • Ensure that rooms are made as per IITA standards.
  • Attend to and resolve guest complaints.
  • Coordinate with the reception on guest requirements and actions.
  • Inspect all rooms and inform reception of their status.
  • Inspect all public areas and back of house to ensure cleanliness at all times and attend daily briefings.
  • Conduct orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and do demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment’s and inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Plan work for the housekeeping department and distributes assignments accordingly, assign regular duties and special duties for housekeeping staff.
  • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • National Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

Competencies:

  • Have excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking and communication skills.
  • Be computer literate, trustworthy and diligent to work
  • Have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
