Job Title: Senior Corporate Affairs Manager 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

Government Incentives Expertise:

  • Stay updated on all incentives provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria, including but not limited to import duty exemptions, pioneer status incentives, brand fee waivers, NOTAP (National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion) registration processes, and export grant commissions.
  • Advise the company on the eligibility criteria, application processes, and benefits associated with these incentives.
  • Strategize and coordinate efforts to leverage these incentives to optimize the company's operations, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness.

Incentive Application and Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of applying for and securing government incentives, including preparing documentation, liaising with relevant authorities, and monitoring compliance with approval conditions.
  • Track and report on the utilization of incentives, ensuring that the company maximizes the benefits and meets all reporting requirements.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and statutory requirements governing the company's operations.
  • Proactively identify and address any potential compliance issues or regulatory risks related to import/export activities, tax obligations, corporate governance, and other legal matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry bodies to resolve any compliance-related issues and maintain positive relationships.

Public Relations:

  • Develop and execute public relations campaigns to enhance the company's visibility and promote its products, services, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to stay informed about policy changes, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
  • Represent the company in meetings, forums, and industry events to advocate for its interests and influence policy decisions that impact its business operations.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead a team of corporate affairs professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective performance and professional development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including legal, finance, operations, and procurement, to address statutory issues, leverage incentives, and achieve business objectives.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve corporate affairs processes, policies, and practices to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making and mitigate risks.

Media Relations:

  • Manage relationships with journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers to ensure accurate and favourable coverage of the company's activities and initiatives

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of corporate affairs strategies, including government relations, public policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive engagement with government stakeholders to promote the company's interests and address industry challenges.

Qualification and Skills

  • B.Sc/M.Sc/MBA in business administration, Management, Finance, Political science or a related field.
  • 10 + Years of experience in corporate affairs, public relations with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute long-term corporate affairs strategies.
  • Should demonstrate leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and manage teams, as well as the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing crises and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Familiarity with the industry in which the company operates, as well as an understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Salary
N800,000 - N1,000,000 / Month.
