Job Title: Security Coordinator

Location: Lagos
Seniority level: Non-Management
Function: Legal & External Affairs
Reports to: Security Manager

Role Positioning and Objectives

  • This role is part of the Legal & External Affairs – Security subfunction of the BAT facility in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • The role is responsible for overseeing the Security Command and Control Centre personnel, as well as analysing and reporting on security intel, ensuring the Facility and the Business are safe at all times.

What You Will be Accountable for

  • Analyse intelligence to identify and report potential criminal threats to BAT activities in West Central Market (WCM). 
  • Apply knowledge of the market culture, history to stay ahead of potential threats.
  • Prepare daily and weekly detailed Nigeria and WCM intelligence reports for distribution to the security leadership team.
  • Supervise the security Command and Control Centre personnel and activities which include:
    • the provision of effective access control system to ensure the security of company assets and properties, 
    • the provision of first-class journey management system. Ensure all company official transportation and protocol needs are adequately met in timely manner in Lagos and Ibadan
    • Management and coordination of Control Room and field contractors including Policemen assigned to Rising Sun.
    • Management of drivers during off duty hours.
    • Coordinate the Security escort teams as well as the airport protocol system for BAT travellers and visitors. Ensure that travel security procedures and documentation are aligned and updated across Lagos and Ibadan. 
    • Ensure that all security equipment (radios, panic, and fire alarm systems) is installed, monitored, and maintained effectively
  • Develop capabilities on the use and integration of the Resolver platform in WCA. Once trained, input data on the Resolver platform and begin to aggregate threat and vulnerability data on the platform.
  • Register incidents and losses on the loss reporting platform – SID.
  • Record data from the Security and Site Vulnerability Assessments conducted in the area on the SRM platform.
  • Set up an efficient information system per region to forward timely security alerts to all employees.

Essential Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have 3-7 years’ experience in a security role or capacity
  • Good level of French would be a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
  • Great data analysis and reporting skills, as well as able to handle multiple ongoing tasks.
  • Able to access security incidents and recommend proactive and security measures
  • Able to monitor security technology systems
  • Certified Protection Professional certification would be an advantage
