Job Description

  • We seek a seasoned Sales and Marketing Manager to spearhead our sales and marketing team in driving business growth, developing innovative marketing strategies, and building strong customer relationships in the farm inputs and mechanical industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales and marketing, excellent leadership and management skills, and a deep understanding of the industry.
  • As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective sales and marketing initiatives to drive growth, enhance customer relationships, and expand our market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive market research and analysis, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methods, to identify emerging trends in agricultural value chain, customer preferences, and competitiveness.
  • Develop comprehensive sales plans and strategies, incorporating farm inputs and mechanisation market insights and customer feedback, to drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Create innovative marketing strategies and execute impactful advertising campaigns across various channels, leveraging digital platforms, traditional media, and strategic partnerships.
  • Cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, industry associations, and influencers, to amplify brand visibility and market reach.
  • Lead the identification and development of new products and services through a customer-centric approach, collaborating closely with the product development team and leveraging market insights.
  • Proactively manage client relationships through personalised communication, exceptional service, and timely resolution of inquiries or issues, fostering long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys and feedback mechanisms to gauge customer sentiment, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement of products and services.
  • Collaborate with sales and distribution channels to develop effective sales enablement tools and resources, including sales presentations, collateral materials, and training programs, to support sales team effectiveness and success.
  • Stay abreast of agriculture industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales and marketing, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and differentiate the company's offerings in the marketplace.
  • Analyse sales performance data and marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives, identifying areas for optimisation and refinement.
  • Promote collaboration and alignment between sales and technical service teams, ensuring that farm inputs and service offerings meet market demands and customer expectations.
  • Develop and execute targeted promotional campaigns and sales promotions, leveraging data-driven insights and customer segmentation strategies to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Monitor competitive activities and market dynamics, conducting regular assessments of competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
  • Consistently optimise marketing ROI through performance tracking, A/B testing, and marketing attribution analysis, reallocating resources and adjusting strategies as needed to maximise returns.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar and campaign schedule, coordinating cross-functional efforts and ensuring timely execution of marketing initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills Acquisition:

  • The position requires a degree in Marketing, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of proven experience in Sales and Marketing of niche products
  • Must be able to create strategic reports to management regarding the sales, Marketing and overall brand role of the company.
  • Strong knowledge of the farm inputs industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including team management, performance coaching, and talent development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Attention to detail, analytical abilities, and adaptability are also crucial for success in this role.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and successfully leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges and obstacles in sales and marketing efforts.
  • Capacity to adapt strategies and approaches based on changing market dynamics and business needs.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Marketing, Business or a related field
  • Master's degree in any relevant field of study is an added advantage
  • Certificate in CIM, SCPM etc.

Salary
N250,000 - N350,000 / Month.
