Job Title: Safety Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Major Function

  • A Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.
  • They conduct training, investigate incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement, aiming to create a safe and compliant workplace environment.
  • You will also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and execute safety management programs
  • Observe, audit, and monitor safety on job sites, including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Evaluation and analysis of previous injury reports based on available data
  • Manage and lead inquiries on accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance
  • Providing guidance to the project management team regarding health and safety issues and ensuring the site complies with all industry, local, state, and federal guidelines

Requirements

  • Educational Background: B.Sc. (2nd Class) or HND (Credit) in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expected Age: - 35-40 Years
  • Sex: Male
  • Location: must reside within the geographical area or willing to relocate at own cost.
  • Technical Qualifications: Ability to use Microsoft 365 suit, and other Apps.
  • Job Experience: Candidate should have at least a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in HSE or any related field. With a solid understanding of the industry.
  • Professional Body/Certification: NEBOSH, IOSH preferred.

Remuneration

  • Salary Range: N300,000 - N340,000 / month.
  • Other Benefit: HMO Cover, 13th Month Salary, etc.
