African Industries is a diverse group focused on the development of the steel industry in Nigeria using international technology and quality comparable to international standards in the manufacture of Iron rod, Angle, billets, wire rod, nails, BRC mesh and other steel profiles with over giving employment to around 8,000 local Nigerians directly and indirectly guided by a strong workforce of trained managers who have decades of experience on steel industries abroad. The Group currently operates in eight different locations within Nigeria and exports its products mainly to other West African nations.

Job Title: Room Upkeeping Supervisor

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced House Keeping supervisor with a strong background in hospitality operations to oversee and supervise our housekeeping department.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional guest experience, as well as strong team management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversight of the detailed inspection program for superior cleanliness, a well-maintained facility, and room quality.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and all housekeeping job assignments to ensure cleanliness, quality, and departmental standards are being met.
  • Good knowledge of arranging the room – placement of furniture/fixture & Linen and their periodic cleaning.
  • Oversees the removal, replacement, and stocking of linen/terry and room amenities.
  • Assists to clean, preparing rooms and other perform other relevant housekeeping duties.
  • Prioritizes the cleaning duties and provides updates on the status of completed rooms and work areas.
  • Maintains records of rooms that receive cleaning approval and rooms that require further cleaning and maintenance.
  • Identifies cleaning needs and potential safety hazards or repair needs and notifies appropriate individuals for resolution.
  • Distributes and collects the operational equipment and supplies and other necessary tools to team members at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.
  • Takes personal responsibility for delivering an excellent guest experience.
  • Monitors the Property Management System (PMS) to track room for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains team members; schedules and motivates team members; plans, assigns and direct work; appraise performance; reward team members; address complaints and resolve problems.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND in Hotel Management or its equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to successfully communicate with multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Candidate must have 5 years+ experience in a 3-star hotel.
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and leadership qualities.

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 / month.
