Our journey as a healthcare provider began in March 2006 with the establishment of the Cardiac Centre in Victoria Island, in association with the renowned Cromwell Hospital in London.

Job Title: Risk Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the hospital to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. 
  • This role involves developing risk management policies, conducting audits, analyzing incident reports, and recommending corrective actions to minimize hazards.
  • The Risk Officer will collaborate with healthcare professionals, legal teams, and administrative staff to implement best practices in risk prevention and response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify potential risks related to patient care, data security, and hospital operations.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Work with insurance providers to manage liability claims and coverage.
  • Prepare reports and updates for hospital management on risk-related issues.
  • Investigate incidents, errors, and complaints, recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide training to hospital staff on risk mitigation and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Risk Management (e.g., CRM, CPHRM) is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance in Nigeria.
