Overview

  • Welcome2Africa International is looking for an experienced Research and Policy Lead with a strong background in economics, research, and policy development. The successful candidate will lead research projects and formulate policies in the Agribusiness, Maritime, Solid Mineral, Energy, and Tourism sectors. The role is central to shaping policies that promote trade and investment, as well as providing data-driven insights to guide business decisions. This position is based in Abuja.

Responsibilities

  • Sector Research & Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on the target sectors to identify investment opportunities and trends.
    • Stay updated on global and regional developments impacting these industries.
  • Policy Development:

    • Use research findings to create and propose policies that enhance trade and investment.
    • Advocate for policy changes that improve business environments.
  • Reporting & Presentation:

    • Compile research findings into concise, actionable reports.
    • Present insights and policy recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proposal Development:

    • Prepare proposals and presentations for clients and investors, ensuring alignment with their needs.
  • Economic Analysis & Market Insights:

    • Analyze economic trends and investment climates in the target sectors.
    • Provide market intelligence, including competitor analysis and regulatory assessments.
  • Project Feasibility Studies:

    • Lead feasibility studies for potential investment projects.
    • Evaluate economic viability, risks, and potential returns of projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and investors.
    • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics or related fields (Public Policy, Business, Agriculture, Energy).
  • Excellent communication skills for writing reports and presenting findings.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and research methodologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Research on Trade and Investment: 5 years (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting research and policy analysis in trade, investment, or specified sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret economic data and market trends.
  • Familiarity with investment principles, regulatory frameworks, and market analysis.

Pay
N100,000 - N200,000 salary per month.
