Duties/Basic Function of the Position
- The incumbent is directly supervised by the Maintenance Supervisor on all duties as a Carpenter in the Carpentry trade.
- Assigned duties involve construction, alteration, repair or modification of items and structures such as framework, rafters, exterior/interior trim, staircase, trusses, beams, cabinets, doors, siding, where accuracy, spacing and fit are essential and structural soundness and appearance are important.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
- Experience: Three year of journeyman carpentry experience is required.
- Job Knowledge: Must have full journeyman carpenter knowledge of established practices and procedures on the specific trade involved. Must have Knowledge to use carpentry hand and electric tools, power tools, measuring and leveling equipment is required
Education Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary.
- Completion of vocational training of apprenticeship, recognized as producing journeyman carpentry skills, or equivalent experience is required.
Evaluations - This may be tested:
- Language: Level II (Limited knowledge) speaking/reading/writing in English
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to read shop drawing, as well as, ability to work after normal working hours or the weekend shift. S/he is required to have a driver's license.

Agency Benefits:
- Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lagos, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
- For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
- The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
