Job Description
- We are seeking a highly qualified Proposal and Tender Manager to join our team.
- As a Proposal Manager, you will play a crucial role in the sales process; ensuring that proposals are compelling, and aligned with both the client’s needs and the company’s offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, negotiates and reviews contract terms with internal and external clients/partners.
- Ensures contracts are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Develops and drafts business proposals for strategic partnerships and similar deals
- Assures all necessary clauses and details are included in contracts
- Approves the cost estimate of materials.
- Prepares the bidding documents for Contractor/ subcontract RFQ’s;
- Identifies the pre-bid agreements to be completed, if necessary;
- Endorses the project organization, overall project schedule, overall execution plan, overall resources plan developed by the Project team;
- Remains up-to-date with legislative changes that could affect current and future contracts
- Maintains an organized system of physical and digital records
- Develops Proposal Plan and review Enquiry Summary where necessary and required.
- Organizes and holds bid kick-off meeting;
- Advice management on proposal matters;
- Manages the interfaces with Partners and Client;
- Analyses/explain requirements, terms and conditions of Contract to managers and interested parties;
- Assists in bid vendors list definition;
- Integrates proposal packages prepared by the individual Operating Companies and Proposal Partners (if any) and reconcile possible discrepancies;
- Discusses with the Commercial Managers and approve each Operating Company proposal package in accordance with the BU's Commercial strategy;
- Managing proposal timelines, ensuring timely completion and submission to the proposal to the Client.
- Manage proposal timelines and coordinate proposal governance and sign-off.
- Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
- Document template management in line with company branding.
- Ensure timely delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes.
- Coordinating with subject matter experts across departments for proposal content.
- Liaise with and support the Project Manager to ensure the project is executed safely and properly
- Support negotiations of claims, manage contractual changes and resolve disputes or conflict resolution with Contractors
- Maintaining and updating a Content Management System for proposal documentation.
- Any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, business administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing or related role, in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Subject Matter Expertise in proposal and RFP best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Should reside in Port Harcourt or willing to relocate.
- Good knowledge of contract law and legal requirements involved with contracts
- Has strong negotiation and mediation skills
- Experience with sales tools and software.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
