Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a woman-led organization born out of passion for the well-being of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. Currently, the organization has focused its attention on the North East of Nigeria with special emphasis on Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states (the BAY states) due to the decade-old crises. COWACDI intervenes through a community-based approach in addressing Gender-Based Violence prevention and response programmes, child protection, peace-building programmes, and empowerment of youth and women. COWACDI operates with full respect for humanitarian law and works with concrete policies and principles of international standards such as humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence, and accountability to the affected population.

Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Develop and manage budget for each project working with the program manager, meeting manager, and meeting planner.
  • Promote a participatory approach in programming work and create space in the structure for staff participation and involvement
  • Provide continuous monitoring and support to field staff, coordinate project reviews, evaluations, and follow-up implementation of evaluation findings in close collaboration with the Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation officer.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to program staff and all partners charged with implementing the program.
  • Manage an operational team to supervise project activities implementation in the target area in compliance with local laws and organizational policies and procedures, including the management and evaluation of a diverse staff.
  • Ensures the implementation of project on time and within budget.
  • Manage and facilitate the flow of essential information among project team members.
  • Functions at the LGA level (Bama, Monguno, and Ngala)), support the harmonization of project strategies in the region and alignment with global policies and commitments, support exchange of expertise and practices in the region, and provide a regional-level analysis of trends
  • Prepare project documentation including activity, and monthly and quarterly project reports on implementation, and contribute to the final narrative reports as per donor requirements.
  • Assume any other responsibility as assigned by the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 3 - 5 years work experience.
